Nice to get off to a 1-0 start. Good performance by the Defense in whole, Dorsett and Gronk.

Let's discuss!!!

Patriots 27, Texans 20 (final): Phillip Dorsett emerges in big way (69th different player to catch a TD pass from Tom Brady), pass rush comes to life, and Patriots slug it out against rusty Deshaun Watson.

#Patriots win. Overall impressive job by the defense who was put in tough situations. #Patriots have some roster moves to make this week...

Game never in doubt . thats good enough start for me.

Plenty of good, some to clean up, some uncharacteristic shots in the leg but a solid
overall win with Authority showing he still has something to teach his disciples.

Lots of good things to be happy about. The pass rush is number one on my list. Dorsett's play also comes to mind. It wasn't pretty by all means but we are 1-0.

**** McCarron and Roberts. I want them gone. Hopefully Cannon can round back into form and Hill isn't done for the year.

Started off well then it got sloppy. Cut McCarron. Defense didn’t break in the red zone. Gonna have to clean all that up next week for sure. Great hard fought win. A little dissapointed with the special teams. Seems like the Texans where starting at their own 30 a lot.

I remember watching Troy Brown fumble punts his first year. You people calling for McCarron's head are beyond impatient.

Gotta feel good after that one. Offensively Dorsett continues to show life at WR & his potential as a secondary option when Edelman returns looks good. Gronk looking fast on seam routes.

Watt-Clowney-Mercilus is basically the best set of 3 pass rushers in the NFL & the OL stonewalled them for the majority of the game. I also thought the group paved some nice holes in the run game.

Defensively, as @PP2 pointed out, players are definitely closer to the LOS in Flores' defense (as Romo pointed out). Bentley was fantastic in his first game. The defense noticeably dipped when he was out for a couple drives.

Special teams (minus Allen's fantastic punt) was pretty bad. Seemed as if the Texans got past the 30 on numerous kick returns.

Watson 17/34 176 yards 1 TD 1 INT 62.9 Passer Rating

Chalk Watson up as the first good QB that the 2018 defense made look bad.

I stated in the GDT that McCarron will be in the dog house *IF* we in fact have a dog house. I really do not know that we in fact have a dog house.

Dorsett, Bentley, J. Jones all played well at positions where there were questions going in. Only 1 game, but so far so good.

Defense looks like it will have the ability to be very multidimensional from week to week and playing according to opponent.

Would have liked to bury them a little earlier, sure, but the Texans are no slouch. A great win for week 1! #OnToJacksonville

Defense played well. One of the few recent Patriots games where special teams and the field position battle were a negative factor in score prevention.

For the people *****ing in here, notice that the Steelers are in OT with the Browns. Some of you need to get it through your head that the margins of victory in the NFL are razor thin.

Great job by the defense after ST and the Offense spotted the Texans the ball twice in your own redzone. Add in the fumble by Gronk and we made it more difficult than necessary.

Flashes by the offense with Dorsett showing up.

ST had awful kick coverage. Not sure what this is about but it looked pretty systematic on every play so hopefully it is an easy fix.

Overall a good start to the season.
