We never have the "final 53". There will be transactions all year. But, the Game 1 and Game 2 rosters are more "final" for me than the so called final cut. The final cut included 2 players that put on IR the next few days: Izzo and Dawson, hardly final. The roster was light at OL, WR. and PR. Belichick added back Schwenke, Hansen and McCarron.

I suppose some were shocked that Belichick kept special teamer Grissom and didn't keep special teamer Bolden.

Obviously, we could have an upgrade this next week, or at any time, especially at WR. But, absent injuries, one of Hansen or Mccarran are holding a roster spot for Edelman.

We have some solid Practice Squad players in Valentine, Croston, Webb and Harris. Any of these could be promoted, as needed, at any time. The rest included favs of some posters: Langi, Ferenz, and Wiltz. Even the newbies may be interesting: Anderson (TE), and Billingsley (WR/ ST).

As always, there were lots of end of roster choices, but no major surprises from Belichick (IMO). Were there any major SURPRISES for other posters?

I normally could care less about wide receiver, but to go into a season with such an unproven group is concerning. Brady has made chicken salad out of **** before, but at 41 it would have been preferable to have a more experienced players around him.

I'm also aware that their plans for Britt, Matthews, Mitchell, Decker, and even Cody Hollister fell through. I don't know how much more they needed to give up for Hopkins when they were trying to move Collins, but it would have been worth it for a 1st (which they gave up anyway for Cooks). Riley McCarron has shown nothing to seserve a place on the 53 man roster and hope his stay is short

Tackle depth is also concerning with Wynn lost due to that unfortunate Achilles injury and Garcia from blood clots. Cannon has had continued foot problems in recent years , Brown is an unknown who has been called lazy and willing to sit out games with minor issues, and Waddle is a decent reserve but nothing to write home about. Croston and Ferentz also haven't shown anything.

Thuney's regression, Shaq still having issues in pass protection, and Andrews still getting bullied leave me unsettled as a whole with the O-line.

Also considering how much attention Bill pays to special teams it's mind boggling that he let a talent like Grugier-Hill go in favor of Jordan Richards and Elandon Roberts. Hill assumed kickoff duties when their kicker got knocked out with a concussion, plays on every special teams unit, and can fill on on defense without looking out of place. Roberts shouldn't be on this team due to his inability to correctly diagnose run plays and his frighting lack of talent in space. And the fact that the blight known as Jordan Richards is gone is a miracle.

I'm actually okay with Grissom being on the roster because I still believe there's some untapped ability there. When he was drafted I thought he could be a poor man's Collins as a tweener. With him finally getting some snaps at LB, this might actually be a possibility.

The halfback room is diverse, with each possessing a unique skillset, although injury concerns with Michel and Burkhead have me concerned. Hill's Ridley like fumbleitis also doesn't want me seeing him with too many snaps.

Jordan Richards?

This was 2 years ago.

Seeing him making plays for Philly last night stirred this up. And even if it is old news, the blunder was significant.

I don't like it either. That's not what I meant, though. I figured "Jordan Richards?" meant "he's not even on the roster what are you talking about?" and clarified.

Langi isn't on the PS, is he?

Too bad for Langi.
Apparently the injury is not bad enough to qualify for IR.
Maybe not healthy enough for the practice squad.
Makes the team. Car accident to IR. Competes in training camp. Internal organ injury. Now apparently without a team.
Ouch.

I suspect that they will bring him back eventually. Tough break for sure.

Guesses for the INACTIVES:

Hollister
Michel
Schwenke
Hansen
Davis
Crossen
Jackson

I'm not a fan of Houston punting to him they know all his game.
All we need is a muffed grab.
Because they know how to hit it or what to do to throw him off.
