Chris Sale to the DL

Eh. Better now than in the playoffs.
bogarts got hurt last night to. he got hit by a pitch on the same wrist as last year. they have a **** load of injuries. erod. steven right. it's always the same players. the sale injury could be a blessing. he tends to be less effective in sept due to fatigue., hopefully, the time off will help.

Everything about this sounds like it's the Hellenic Flu. As mentioned, Sale generally gets less effective in September, so a 10 day break in early August might help him out. They've kept his pitch counts and innings lower than last season, and this is probably just another way to keep him fresh. The Sox rotation has a 1.52ERA the past two weeks, so they can still be great even without Sale for a short time.

4 games against NYY is the big test though.

Maybe he was talking about the collapse of the Yankees? 15-16 since July has pretty much knocked them out of discussion to win the division.

I'm just worried about their bullpen being able to shut down good hitting teams when they get to the playoffs.....they don't give me a warm fuzzy as they run hot and cold from game to game.....luckily the offense is so potent.

Nice to see Price shut down the Indians. Sale has to get healthy for the final push to the playoffs. Still not sold on the bullpen for pitching against the stronger hitting teams that the Sox will be facing in the playoffs......

As of yesterday, the starters had a 6.04 ERA over the past 11 game stretch. Here’s hoping for a return to health for all.

...in other words, rounding into playoff form...
Hope not. I think it’s all going to depend on health, though. Sale, Price, and Erod were all rolling along nicely. Rodriguez gave a quality start in his return. Now they’ll have to hope for the same from Sale and Price.

Maybe this year they can get it out of their systems BEFORE the postseason as opposed to IN the postseason. #hopeandchange

Porcello had a nice outing last night.
He, Sale Price, Erod, that is the staff we hope for the playoff run.
Other recent starters to bullpen, Wright added to mix.
Will be nervous till I se that Price and Sale are healthy.
