What would be the worst possible Super Bowl?

I predict jimmy g will never play in a Sb.
Why do you think that? Is it because you don’t think he’s very good or because of the competition in the NFC?

I dunno, NFC is stacked...eagles, rams, packers, seahawks.
Aaron Rodgers will always make the Packers competitive but he is not enough to cover all the holes that they still have on that team. Jimmy Graham is a nice addition but they still don’t have an actual running back. And their defense is still an issue. Every year we always hear how “stacked” the Packers are until mid season when they’re struggling and then the media defends Aaron Rodgers for why the team isn’t playing well.

The Seahawks are flat out done. Wilson will keep them competitive but they are overmatched against the rest of the NFC.

The Eagles could be a fluke and the Rams and Vikings could implode.

Seahawks vs Anyone

Yay! Another thread pondering something negative! Happy summer, folks -- winter is just 'round the corner ...

In spite of the thread title I'm looking at who I'd like to see in the SB. The rest of the teams aren't worth the time.

If the Pats don't win it I really want to see the Browns or Bills win, closely followed by the Chiefs. Then I think I'd go for Cincy, Houston, the Jags and the Titans.

In the NFC I wouldn't mind seeing the Saints or Falcons win, though I'm sure both teams' fans don't agree. I'd also put Minny, Detroit and Chicago right behind with the Cards and Bucs bringing up the rear.

GB and Philly were both on the bubble but moved to the trash bin. Philly because it would give them two in a row and GB because the Rodgers ball washing would be unbearable.

Gotta say, a Browns Bucs Super Bowl matchup would resemble the mixture of hemorrhoids and feces.

It could certainly be the most unappealing Super Bowl on that fact alone.

Boo hoo. C’mon Tune, at least read what the thread is about. I’m only talking about ratings here.

We always talk about how Pats Cowboys would be the highest ratings Super Bowl matchup ever. I’m just curious as to what the worst rated matchup possible would be.

My apologies if even mentioning a Super Bowl without the Patriots involved is considered too negative for discussing.

The Pats have nothing to do with it, I just react viscerally to any thread inviting people to ponder/rank/name "the worst" of anything. We have too many of them, life is too short.

Pat's always get good ratings no matter who we play, we have a large fan base and everyone else wants to see us lose.

And you think the 49ers are better than these teams?

They are better than the Packers and the Seahawks.

In order I would put the top NFC teams as follows:

1. Eagles
2. Rams
3. Falcons
4. Packers
5. Panthers
6. Vikings
7. Seahawks
8. 49ers

And each of these teams will continue to be good for the next several years. SF is going to have a helluva time reaching the SB. I’m not even convinced Jimmy G will be all that great.

It already happened. Giants vs. Ravens, 2000/01 season. There will never be a more boring game and less interesting plot line than that one.

Bengals vs Bears

In the AFC it has to be the Jaguars. Expansion team, small market, no success, no star QB, and they share their region with two more popular teams. In the NFC it would probably be the Buccaneers for roughly the same reasons. They are both two teams from the same state and the southern half of the state wouldn't give a damn about it.

Also if the NFL was ever to root for a Super Bowl it likely would be the Patriots vs the Cowboys.

I hear ya there. This was more about thinking of small markets and bad matchups rather than being negative.

Then allow me to be negative:

Sh!tsDirt Squealers vs New Jersey Vagiants

I dunno about the Rams, I'm getting a real 2011 Eagles Dream Team vibe around them. I think they'll disappoint a lot of people this year

I just don't want The Rapist to get another ring. Same with Gomer. So the matchup of those two would be the worst-case scenario.

Pats vs. Giants where the Patriots fail to put up more than 14 points and lose the game for a third time. That would be a pretty bad super bowl.
