But at pick # 198 in the SIXTH FREAKING ROUND, who cares who’s passed him up ? You’re taking a swing at the fences. How does it hurt to take a chance on a QB who was ridiculously productive in college, especially when it’s such a late pick. This is EXACTLY WHEN you take a chance like this. And sometimes it works out. Even if he’s a serviceable career backup, it’s better than throwing away the pick. Especially at a need position.

Falk has some Brady in him, has a chip on his shoulder because he was a walk on. Now he has a chip because of being bypassed. Not saying he’s the next Brady, or even a starter in the league, but how is NOT taking a chance on him, and NOT USING the pick at this point more beneficial than trading the pick ? Really is ridiculous at THIS point in the draft. Who knows, maybe it was time for a late lunch so they traded the pick.

Oddly, there are still 4 QBs on the board for whom the Pats showed just as much interest as they did for Falk.

They traded for the best KR in football this offseason, so he'll need to earn a roster spot over Patterson or Dorsett or someone like that. I'd give him even odds, at least, which is as good as you can do for a 6th round pick.
