Elite deep threat and a great guy. Although outside of the deep ball, I was very underwhelmed with him as a WR. Mainly regarding his ability after the catch.

Unfortunately, those weaknesses showed up on 2 glaring Super Bowl plays where he couldn't make that guy miss on 4th & 1 in open space, and some bizarre YAC running that resulted in getting knocked out.

We now have the ammo in the best LB draft in recent memory to potentially pull a Jones/Hightower 2.0. We have a realistic shot at Landry + Evans/Carter if we choose to double dip on defense.

Holy cow. I didn’t expect this to happen because it didn’t make any sense for his value to be higher on $8M/1yr than $10M/2yrs. Somehow, his value went up.

I think we've got Sammy Watkins to thank for that. He leaves, Rams have a hole in their roster and cap space burning a hole in their pocket, and then they panic their way into making the exact same mistake they made last offseason. I like McVay and I like the Rams in general, but if Cooks leaves this offseason and they end up with nothing to show for the 2017 2nd and 2018 1st that they traded for WRs, it'll be one of the funnier roster blunders of the last couple years.

WHAT THE F ARE THE RAMS THINKING.....

They're seriously drinking the Bleacher Report Kool Aid that has them ranking #1 in preseason Power Rankings.

The biggest WTF is, Geoff cant hit the side of a barn on his deep ball. Last year he overthrew Sammy Watkins like 60% the time, when he was WIDE THE HELL open. It was one of the main reason Watkins production was deflated, and the reason KC signed him to Big $$$. I mean he was wide open all the time. Geoff just couldn't hit him. Mchomes has a Cannon and an amazing Deep Ball.
What makes them think getting another deep thereat, who arguably isn't much better, or better at all, is worth giving up the #23 pick. They're high.

I watch a lot of All 22 during the offseason, And I witnessed it for myself.
I don't have the gifs but here, Look at article. Ive seen at least 3 more where he has many more examples of horrible deep ball plays that you can all look up.

I'm with you here. My expectations were obviously very high for the guy, and over the offseason I was kind of wondering if we got another Moss. What we got was a better, younger, saner version of Brandon Lloyd. And I liked Lloyd. Problem is that Cooks had one year left on his contract, was going to demand elite receiver money, but wasn't quite up there with the elite tier guys.

Stinks because we are clearly taking a short term hit at receiver. But pick 23 is quite enticing, and as noted is more than we paid last year for him.

Why wouldn't you draft Calvin Ridley or D.J. Moore with five years of cost control & the upside to maybe be a better WR down the road if you're the Rams....
