Is it me or does it seem like BB is just not trying this offseason? or has his routine pissed off the players and now we are experiencing it through this exodus of players?

Show me how the contracts the guys who left received could work here. Anytime a player with some success leaves without a clear and obvious successor, this is the reaction. We all know damn well Solder isn't worth 15m a year.

He likes to stay under budget

What moves???

Apart from the obvious reason which is being a troll how the **** can you be here since 2004 and keep being surprised how this team historically deals with free agency. Except for absolute exceptions it is the same order of business every year.

FA didnt even open officially and some bozos are thinking BB is not trying. Absolute insanity..

What did you expect?
We are not making solder the highest paid ol in the nfl.
We aren’t paying 6 mill a year to a rb who plays 25 snaps a game and is part of a 3 man rotation.
We didn’t want butler.
Amendola is 33 years old, we have 6 nfl caliber WRs besides him and he got paid more than double what he played for here.

Aside from surprise that solder got paid so much more than what is reasonable anyone who really follows this team would have expected all of these things to happen.

oh hey, another post about how the patriots have not signed any free agents even though you can't actually sign anyone for another 3 hours.

We have 21 mill in cap space
While avg value isn’t the same as cap hit
Butler 12 mill
Solder 15 mill
Lewis. 6 mill
Amendola 6 mill

How do you expect a team with 21 mill in cap space and other needs to absorb 39 mill in annual contracts?

Digest this for a while, courtesy of Bruce Allen BSMW...'

Cap Hits 2018 (from Spotrac):
Chandler Jones 15.5 mil Jaime Collins 12.150 mil
Jimmy G 37 mil
Solder 15.5 mil (Est)
Butler 12 mil (Est) Logan
Ryan 8.6 mil
Amendola 6.5 mil (est)
Lewis 6 mil (est)
Total $113.25
Million NFL Salary cap $177.2 Million.

The only recent offseason where the Patriots "won the offseason" was last year, where Bill made all these splashy trades that had us dreaming of an undefeated season. Half of those trades did not work out, and in retrospect we might have been better off standing pat and just drafting BPA.
