If Wilkerson is willing to play on a 1 year 'prove it' deal, I don't see why he wouldn't be an upgrade for our DL. He has played both DT and DE positions in his career. Not to mention, the Patriots defensive pressure, and ability to force turnovers, was among the worst of any top 10 defense last year.

Players have come to the Pats, rehabilitated their rep, then translated that to bigger dollars the next season. I don't see why that couldn't prove to be the same with Mo Wilkerson. He has the talent but the way he ended his career with the Jets there are going to be a lot of question marks. In particular, he can't be missing/late for team meetings or his ass will be cut before preseason even ends.

That being said, I've seen BB turn around seeming 'malcontents' before. The risk is low imo. Let's roll the dice.
