Indeed, it does. It was almost mandatory for my generation to go to college and grad school. It wasn’t for your generation. You can tell the difference in brain power whenever the two of us converse. Maybe in another few thousand posts you’ll get up to speed, though. I have faith in you, NEM.
Easy now, every generation has its idiots and going to college is not an antidote for some.

1986. A fine year. Seems impossibly long ago and yet not that long ago

A fine year??? The Challenger disaster and the Bob Stanley/Bill Buckner nightmare. Pats got slaughtered in the SB (they made it though). Jack won the Masters at 46 though.

Oh well, if nothing else, it was a good time to get lots of consolation sex.

Indeed. I think the only thing that can help NEM is to sign off here, on to OurTime.com and to see if he can find a woman desperate enough.
Maybe it’s babe Perilli Back from the dead lol

The C's were incredible in '86. And while the finishes were miserable the Pats and Sox had wildly entertaining seasons. In terms of bang for the buck outside of '04 it may have been one of our more memorable sports years and in terms of just bangin' well hell yeah...consolation nookie. It's not quite up there with ripping off a championship piece but it's on a par with make up sex

I recall it well because of being a senior that year. Had a lot of fun that year

Yeah, I too suspect something is seriously backed up there but that's not quite where...

Wow had to look. He’s got me in the bag too. I’ve only been around maybe a year and a few months but I post a lot so I’m surprised

This thread is going on hiatus for a while ... maybe it will help some move on.

too many insults and definitely not in the spirit of Ian's desires and rules.

The spirit of the rules was constructive Patriots discussion.

Bump....

Please keep it civil and productive.

According to McCourty it really is just a thing where the coaches decided not to use him. That’s utterly insane but, what do I know?

So Now we can rule out that butler had a fight with a coach an hour before game time.

So Butler DEFINITELY DID NOT:

miss curfew(denied by BB, Butler)
use Drugs(denied by BB, Butler)
Hit a coach just before the game(denied by BB, Butler, McCourty they knew he wasn't going to start for at least a week)

So far this is all shaping up to be the biggest blunder of a BB's career. It make ZERO sense to bench the guy who played 98% of the snaps, and then give him ZERO snaps in the superbowl.

As someone else pointed out Butler rated in the 70s among CB While Rowe rates in the 50s among CB, making Butler 20 points Higher in rating during the season.

Not putting butler in during the second half of the game after halftime adjustments probably cost the patriots a title.

To be honest, I think Belichick did weed, not Butler.

I don't know how anyone comes to a "definite" conclusion either way without knowing anything except a few peripheral facts.

"Wasn't going to start" does not mean "Wasn't going to play"

Anyways I wish Butler well but also respect that BB made a decision , rightly or wrongly, for the good of the team.

Yes. I agree with the idea that this would be the biggest blunder ever. There’s some saying that B.B. and Mac are only trying to save butlers fa status and all that by not saying anything but I feel that is unlikely. Possible yes , likely, nahh
