Seriously, if you can't make something not about Butler then stay out of other threads than the megathread. I am tired of your and other peoples speculation about what could have been taking over every ****ing thread here that tries to make sense of the game.
This is not about Butler or what he could have done but about what actually happened.
bedard is a wicked tool
just a fat dork who never played competitive sports
You need to realize even bill belichick can look dumb on a big night. He had a bad night. He's a great head coach
Off a bit? There’s another team lining up on defense. ATA a minimum they should have had 16 first half points (and in reality more if the play calling was better). That’s a pace for 32 by the end of the game against a good defense. Oh, and despite being off a bit at the beginn8ng they never, not once, had to punt. What? So, the floater to gronk at the 1 was to “not take an int”? That does not make sense.
not at all, but when the ball is poorly thrown on the tv screen, i go by the fact he was off a bit with it.
look, i appreciate how great he is at protecting the ball. it just seemed he was a bit off early.
Aside from Stephon Gilmore in the Patriots defensive secondary ..........I did notice but I also watched them attack butlers side of the field a lot and feel like it might have been better if he was in there on someone. 14/17 receptions is not happening on butlers worst day. Gilmore played a fine game. The rest of the def. reminded me of keystone cops or that wierd chicken off reefer madness
I’m not remembering butler from days of old just from the past ten games or so

And to think how up in arms some here were during the summer when our secondary wasn’t ranked in the top 3 by certain media outlets.Aside from Stephon Gilmore in the Patriots defensive secondary ..........
Two words:And to think how up in arms some here were during the summer when our secondary wasn’t ranked in the top 3 by certain media outlets.
The fact that they were “only” considered to be a top 5-10 secondary seemed like such an insult to certain fans.
No sh*t. Who cares about the scheme.
I disagree with you on the one hand saying players failed to execute consistently and on the other saying Butler would not have improved anything. The plan described in this piece is pretty much what I figured it must have been just from watching the game and observing the personnel packages. It failed not because it was a bad plan, but because the players - all of them - simply failed to execute consistently enough from the get-go.
It actually seemed pretty obvious to me.
And I really don't believe that putting Butler on the field would have magically improved anything whatsoever.
.
How many times has Brady been benched for moping or throwing a hissy fit on the sideline?I think BB did have a clear reason of starting out the way he did, whether it was schematic, Butler's poor practices, or a combination of these.
And, as you say, normally no one is better than BB at changing strategy in real time when it isn't working. Why didn't he?
IMHO the reason he didn't change it this time was Butler's drama queen crying fit at the beginning of the game. For a coach that is all about being professional and "doing your job", I can't imaging anything that would piss him off more. If it hadn't been for that, I think BB would have changed strategy and at least seen what Butler could do (just like he did in the Seattle Super Bowl). After the crying fit in front of everybody, I think BB would have played Adam Butler before Malcolm Butler at cornerback.

neither one of them should have been on him. i’ve said this 100 times. you people who barely watch the rest of the nfl don’t realize agoholor was more of a threat on underneath routes as opposed to the 4 or 5 deep routes jeffery runs.
i have only said this a gazillion times
once chung got concussed they should have moved bademosi to ertz and told him to hammer him at the line. bademosi is clearly superior to richards.
once
chung returned, bademosi should have shifted over to ertz again to do his thing
Can't wait for someone to blame BB for this when rushing M. Flowers has MPs hand writing all over it.
33 pts for us in the Super Bowl was a good offensive output. Brady carved them up in the 2nd half and the strip sack should not have been the play that sealed our fate. If the D had played even somewhat decently we would have been running the ball there, not desperately trying to score AGAIN, because we needed to keep up with what our D was giving up. This loss is totally on the D.

I don't think you understand what a scheme is.No sh*t. Who cares about the scheme. It didn't work and it was awful! Richards on ertz on a critical 3rd down. Chung on agholor. It's ridiculous! Coaching staff blew it period!
