Not sure if this has been posted

If this is the case then BB had every right to do what he did.

It has been, and it keeps getting posted even though The twitter account is not reputable and there have been no other verification. So people should probably stop posting it.

The truth is out there. Time to call in Mulder and Scully. ;)

I'm not sure why they didn't make any adjustments when it was clearly not working in the 1st half. Change scheme, change personnel(Butler), it was maddening to see the Eagles go up and down the field all day.
I agree. Perhaps after ruling butler out they had no choice but to stick with big nickel and big dime.

Brandon browner said the same thing for what that’s worth.

Ian Rapoport 's Twitter: "My understanding is the benching of #Patriots CB Malcolm Butler happened because of a perfect storm of issues: Sickness, a rough week of practice, and a minor rule violation believed to be related to curfew. A complicated matter."

You mean that hooligan had the nerve to catch the flu and then break curfew???? Well. I stand corrected; that was TOTALLY worth blowing the Super Bowl, Bill.

Kill two birds with one stone. Maintain his no b.s. policy and get Brady and Bob back for undermining his authority.
Why would he want to lose? That’s ********.

I see people continue to refer to adjustments like those magical things everywhere but does anyone actually have any specific suggestion for adjustments that did not involve Butler?

People are somehow down on Patricia and are even mocking him when no one had actually any better ideas what to do given the resources he had available.

It is easy to stand in front of a complex problem and shout at it to solve itself.
I'm being rather harsh toward Patricia because cmon? 41 points allowed in the Super Bowl. When that happens coaching has to be criticized along with the execution of the players.

They have had worse personnel throughout the season and put together solid performances. But they collapsed when at the fullest strength they've been (minus the IR'd players).

Belichick did screw Patricia to a significant extent by benching Butler.

Welker was benched a small portion of the game and it wasn’t the super bowl. The team worked all year to get to that game you put the best players on the field no matter what and let the players who didn’t **** up have a chance to achieve the greatest moment of their career.

did welker show up hammered, blow up at coaches and miss 2 flights after fake calling in sick and miss a saturday, pregame?

just curious

ps bb does not care about players
smoking weed, so it has little do with that

He practiced lousy and was likely weak from illness so who knows if he would have made a difference.

What I don’t get is not even trying him after the half or something. Anything. How can you know if you don’t try? The eagles scored nearly every possession anyway.

Having 7 rings helps. I think he cares more about the competition and building up his team to compete than actually winning it all particularly at this point in his career.

I would have gone bigger to stop the run and blitzed more on passing downs.
Especially in the second half the passing was set up by the run. They rarely threw from bad down and distance.
Given that they were getting big plays anyway, sending more blitzes to at least speed Foles up couldn’t have hurt.

The defense played an awful game but to me people are giving the coaching way too much **** relative to individual players. All the schemes, adjustments and strategy in the world means poo if players dont win their individual battles.

I knew that you would have actually had at least something constructive in mind.

My issue is with all those people that just want Patricia to handwave those magical adjustments so we can finally win that game. To me adjustments has become another one of those buzzwords a lot are using but if you ask them deeper they have no clue.

Basically the 4 safety defense sucks, has never worked, and should never be brought back. Never again have safeties lined up defending outside WR's again.

Kudos to those people who made million dollar bets on the Eagles (probably bet the moment they found out about the idiotic 4 safety defense, or Butler benching plan)
It can have a place but we seem to only use it against the wrong teams.
In concept it’s a big nickel with a safety a lb to defend the run better. In practice it’s too small to stop the run and took slow to stop the pass

Bill Belichick finally faced a head coach who was going to push the pedal to the metal for all four quarters. Meanwhile, Doug Marrone was gutless.

Execution was horrible. The missed tackles and absence of almost any pressure destroyed us. I don't recall many occasions of them dialing in the blitzes. Foles was way way too comfortable in the pocket.
