I brought this up recently, but I have yet to hear this discussed on the national level, and maybe it's been missed, but I keep looking for it.

When NE was heading down to Jax in 2005, the media was talking about how amazing it would be if NE won 3 SBs in 4 years, and that it would be a dynasty, which would dwarf other dynasties because of the salary cap.

Fast forward to today, and there is a nary a mention of how epic it would be, to not only do it once, but twice. And, that's in the face of a cheating commissioner with a handful of owners.

I know WHY this is, but I just think it's funny.

There is no way on earth this is being talked about in the locker room itself, but there is no way those players aren't keenly aware where their place in Pats lore will be, if they can pull this off.

You'd have to figure the guys who have been there for a long time, and really don't the same kind of fan respect as the 2001-2004 teams, are staring down the barrel of a legacy that would easily be on the first dynasty's level, if not more impressive considering what Goodell was hired to do since 2006.

Also, throw in the idea it's far more difficult to play defense in this era than what it was pre-Goodell, due to the rules, the infatuation with points score/fantasy football/manipulation of ratings.

Anyway, we're getting closer to Sunday, and I've yet to see this discussed anywhere.

What I think is fascinating:

2001: Win over NFCW
2002: No SB
2003: Win over NFCS
2004: Win over NFCE

2014: Win over NFCW
2015: No SB
2016: Win over NFCS
2017: Play vs. NFCE

Freeky!

I think it's because of millennials.

No joke. I sent article to a Millennial colleague of mine (Denver fan) an article yesterday about something completely non-football related and he said "Don't you know we don't read articles?"

bawhaha

So true. Attention span, definitely an issue.

Sounds like he was just trying to make a joke that might have flown over your head.

No, no..I got the joke. I am happy he at least admits it because it's beyond true. He can throw it back in people's faces all day, but the naivete is hialrious. He also believes Spygate and Deflategate because ESPN told him about what Goodell said.

The only joke is on people like that....So naive.

I actually read that you Millennials actually read more...

Makes sense. If it didn't happen on their smartphone, it didn't happen.

Blames past playoff failures on Brady.

I wonder if he feels the love in here?

Love the defensiveness and insecurity. Very telling and duly noted.

Translation?

Not a homer, am objective, realize it is a team sport but the qb is arguably the most important position in sports so he is to be held accountable as much as anyone else, if not more.

Hint: bb drafted garoppolo to get brady to snap put of his postseason funk, and it worked.

Some us actually watched his horrendous or mediocre games.

Have a great evening!

Super Bowl XLII: Handed the defense the keys with the lead. Result - Loss.

Super Bowl XLIV: Handed the defense the keys with the lead. Result - Loss.

As for the "hint"? Source?

So, you are ok with brady putting 14 or 17 points on sunday, making a few key gaffes along the way, and us losing, huh?

Ok

Ok

I'm fine with Brady doing his job in the end and handing the defense the lead.

In Super Bowl XLII:
  1. Asante dropped what was an easy INT.
  2. Defense allowed what was essentially a lob pass over the middle because of what was essentially a blown coverage.
  3. Defense checked into an all out blitz on the Giants' final score.

In Super Bowl XLVI:
  1. Defense allows Eli to complete 30 of 40 passes.
  2. Defense allows the Giants to dominate T.O.P., thus taking away valuable possessions from the offense.
  3. Defense allows the Giants to march down the field after being handed the game, by Brady and the offense, with the lead.
None of that was on the offense. And Brady handed them the lead in spite of being injured (in the case of Super Bowl XLII) and constantly under pressure up the A and B gaps (in both cases). So yeah, he did enough. The defense failed the team on both occasions.

Still awaiting your source on that being the reason that JAG was drafted.
