Blow Out!

Status
Not open for further replies.
Why it will be a blow out:
- Eagles suspect on rub routes and double moves. Cookie and Hogan will have huge game. Rub routes free up Gronk down the seam.
-TB12 and BB. At some point, the Eagles look across the field and see ghosts.
-We are due.
-Patricia dials up pass rush like Tennessee game, Foles crumbles under the pressure.

Why it won't be a blowout:
-because Patriots.
-thin and slow at LB. Loss of Hightower hurts in this game.
-notorious slow starters.
-karma is a *****. Doesn't matter that we are owed. Speaking of owed, how can we be owed? 5 Lombardis. Karma doesn't owe us a blow out at all. never mind.
-no easy outs at this point. Eagles are very good.

Would it be possible to get one please? Other than the first Eagles SB the other 4 came down to the wire and the last two were just nail biters. While I enjoy the outcome the journey is painful. Could we just experience a 31-3 game please? Would our D please step up and our O play with the lead?

I want to have four hours of fun and laughs instead of aging an additional five years as I watch Brady and Co. pull off another close one.

What are the odds that this happens?
I love this to happen!! And our defense is due for a 4 pick six Playing catch up is not good for my health.

Blowout are rare in super bowls unless something happens in the first couple of mins that changes the momentum (seattle vs denver, and denver against carolina are examples).

That said I hope we score 2 TDs in first quarter,. Yes, first quarter and control the game so we don't have to hold our breathe for a miracle catch or play in the last 5 mins.

I can wish,right ?

Edit:: I don't remember if the DEN vs CAR had any game defining plays in the first few mins but DEN dominated the game from the get go.

Do not want to be a blowhard predicting a blowout.

Like Maroney said ... Don't want to blow my wad too early.
I thought that's what Robbie Anderson said?

Or something like that.

The way everyone on this forum has been whining about Brady and the offense's inconsistent play in the 37-16 Week 15 win vs Bills, and the 27-6 Week 16 win vs Jets, and the 35-14 Divisional win vs Titans, I am sure everyone will come to this forum and say, after we win the SuperBowl 35-14, "That was the worst 21pt blowout win I ever saw. Tom missed atleast two guys that were completely open. He doesn't have it anymore. Should have kept Jimmy G. He would win the SuperBowl with 30 pts".

The 7 Super Bowls the Belichick Brady pats have been in all rank pretty high on competitiveness and excitement, and therefore rank as some of the best games ever. That’s significant. And all were 1 score games decided in the last minute, ex 39. My heart doesn’t need another, but if that’s what it takes to bring that sucker home....DO IT

The StLouis game was not nearly as close as the final score would have you believe. And had they not made a few uncharacteristic mistakes against Seattle, that game could have been a comfortable win.

I really don't expect much from Hogan. I think he is playing at about 60-70% right now. Then again, maybe two week will be enough to get him closer to 100%. That would be huge. Cooks has to play the game of his life too. No drops.

Turnovers. Last 2 super bowls, we have gifted the opponent 2 TO's. Got one back against Atlanta and one against Seattle - thank you Malcolm.

We would all like a 2004 ALCS game 7 Johnnie Damon 1st inning grand slam game, but I will be ok if it is close in the fourth quarter.

I still remember the sense of relief that washed over me when he hit that. One of the best sports moments of my life. My stomach tends to get all knotted up for these big games. They aren't generally enjoyable for me until we get a comfortable lead. Too much losing in the first half of my sport fan life.

I do expect a big performance from Hogan. He’s dealt with a shoulder injury, not a leg injury. He’s been eased back in, and now with 2 weeks off I fully expect him to explode back on the scene in a big way. He’s been too good to fade quietly in the SB with a nagging shoulder injury

Brady will throw a walk off touchdown down four points with nine seconds left. Amendola grabs the td on fourth down. Kick is good patriots win the Super Bowl brady has his sixth. That’s probably exactly how it comes down

I almost broke my hand on the ceiling when he hit that I was so excited.

Every Patriot Superbowl has been close except for the first one

The Eagles one was also close. It was a 3 point game and Philly had the ball late with a chance to tie

How can it be a championship game if it is not a nail biter? Sometimes, I do wish for a game like we had a blow out game like the one against Indy at AFCCG during the deflate incident. But, there is no feeling like living through a game like Pats-Jags game or a goal line defense against Seattle where every second tick down of the clock before the last play felt like an hour - will he or wont he take a time out.... oh, oh, no time out. The play is beginning... Interception!!!!!!!!!!

Heh.

There was actually a lot'f reason to expect our first blow out last year: when a team with a phenomenal Offense but a shaky Defense ~ like last year's Falcons ~ has opposed a team with a tremendous Offense and a tremendous Defense ~ as the Patriots had, last year ~ the result has usually been a blow out. And I predicted one.

Don't feel too bad for me: I predicted one for Seattle (+3) against Denver, too.

As for last year: best crow I ever tasted!!

Even though we could definitely lose this one ~ the Eagles are a formidable adversary ~ I think that there actually is a legitimate chance of a blow out in our favor.

Unlikely, mind you: Coach Peterson is brilliant and has a steady hand on the tiller, as was evident before he ever coached a single game.

But Foles is the shakiest QuarterBack we've ever faced in a Super Bowl.

So there's that.

Philosophically? Hell...I'll take every Championship I can get and will never complain about how it came about!! Go, Patriots!!

This is why I have turned down Superbowl parties.

It's probably going to be a nail-biter and I don't want to hear other people or have them see my reaction to certain plays

If it's going to be a blowout and the Pats win, I want to revel in the glory without having to keep my reactions in check

If it's going to be a blowout and the Pats lose, I don't want to have to bring the festive spirit down.

Ya after the 16-0 super bowl I’ve stayed home every time although I wish I didn’t. To see the faces on the haters as we came back the past 2 would have been great

A blow out would be nice, but it want happen. Besides, the Pats enjoy putting the fans through heart palpitations...
