Local media milking this Lombardi stuff for all its worth...

The BB gameplan:

Week prior - Ernie and Co. do all their analysis and report. Practice x 10^4. Cover every situation we may see.

Q1 / Top of Q2 - Finish the scouting and compare to results from conclusions made during the week

Q2 (bottom half) - Adjust to see if what we saw is what is there. Go harder if it is the final drive.

Q3 - Analyze their adjustments - make some of ours but not all

Q4 - We have all the data. Finalize adjustments and go for the kill.

Others:

Week Prior - Practice to our strengths. Scout the opponent and see where our strengths will work. Focus on that.

Q1 - Do what we do best

Q2 - See Q1

Half-Time - Look at the stats - yards, 1st downs, sacks - try to figure out why we are not up by 20

Q3 - More of Q's 1&2, adding a few wrinkles

Q4 - Get desperate as NE just keeps rolling. Get too cute on play calls that weren't really practiced since we didn't expect this. Lose the game.

Besides maybe Calais Campbell, I don't know if this year's offense has played against DL as good as Fletcher Cox.

like i said, a bit overrated

sort of funnt to me we hear about the jj watts, the insert trendy and scary dl player name here, the game comes and goes, and that player is invisible.

as you mention, it just happened to calais campbell

If you think Fletcher Cox is overrated, You clearly do not watch the Eagles

Jim Schwartz's Wide-9, A defense that Gilmore played in for a year and a defense that in 2014 in Buffalo Brady went for 27 of 37 370 yards and 4 TD

yep just had to educate a clueless fan on pft.com about that very concept.

i also think philly’s secondary is wildly overrated

3rd down been a problem for them
recently, too

Also, Lombardi works for the Ringer, which is Simmons's site, which of course, are following every other outlets' lead, which is to bash the Pats, lie and mislead for ratings and clicks.

This is also the same guy who claimed Mallett was a "mid 1st rd talent".

He's got a good eye in general, when he's not working for a boss who tells him what to say.

He had a lot of free rein at NFL Network, but in between jobs or with some other outlets that tell him what to say, those situations are two different Mike Lombardis.

Did you really just say that Bill Simmons is telling Lombardi to pick against the Patriots?

Do you know who Bill Simmons is....?

Well, I wouldn't base my opinion of a player on how well he does against a team notorious for scheming out the opponent's best players. I think Cox will be a heavy scheme emphasis and if we don't hear his name much in 2 weeks, it's not because he sucks.

very good player, but like i said, overrated

how does trey flowers measure up? just curious...

let me make this clear: pats players are wildly underrated and every other franchise’s good or great players, end up being overrated at times because the media is tired of complimenting belichick

leonard williams..#6 overall pick in 2015. had he made a key play in his career yet? lol

First off, How many Eagles games did you watch this year?

Please tell me the part about Pats players being underrated, and players on other teams being overrated is a joke

You realize that statements like this are why people hate Patriots fans right?

did you just showcase poor reading comprehension?

you just answered your own question

hint: rodney harrison swings wildly in the other direction so obviously so, to avoid any accusations of bias...and, bruschi did this as well, awkwardly so in 2010, when he joined espn

glad i could help!

Except for the Marshall Faulks of the world, who have been so injured by the Patriots to his core, that he is demented ( Wonder how many days it will be before he starts his nonsense AGAIN) It doesn't effect me one iota what hot take anyone has. One of the two teams are going to win, and they are both very good teams.

Ok let's assume I have the reading comprehension of a first grader and tell me why Bill Simmons, who got fired from ESPN because of his hatred for Goodell for how he treated the Patriots, would tell someone on his website to pick against the Patriots just because it generates clicks.

Could it possibly be that Lombardi just made that pick on his own?

umm, no its not. me pointing out the media hates bb which affects pro bowl or mvp voting for brady, all jealous of their success, has nothing to do with why other fans are jealous of what we have.

that makes absolutely no sense

because there would be concern of bias. i just explained it. if two pro pats guys are gushing, you think they get eyeballs on their product?

lol!!

right, but it will be because he is overrated, like i said. where did i say he “sucked”?

if he is so great like a wilfork, he will beat the double team and give the pats offense a problem for 4 qtrs

i am predicting that will not happen

At this point I'm just going to believe that the past two weeks you've just been performing an elaborate troll job on this whole board to get a reaction, and maybe get some of us to agree with you so that you can go back to whatever other team's forum you came from and say "look what I made all those dumb Patriots fan agree with!".

You can't possibly really mean 90% of the stuff you post on here.

I propose that we all just choose to ignore Chris Stevenson from now on and hope he goes away.

Matt Ryan and the Atlanta offense had their way with a better Pats D ( Compared to this season) in last season's SB. The Patriots held them scoreless from the end of the third on. But this time around, there can't be another slow start. Chances are slim they pull another huge SB comeback. To your point, I wonder if BB would let Brady go full no huddle ( 90's Bills style) for the entire game? Obviously the problem could be not enough rest for your own D.

New England Patriots vs. Atlanta Falcons - Box Score - February 5, 2017

The Pats had the ball for 40:31, the Falcons 23:27

The Pats ran 93 plays to Atlanta's 46.

The Pats had 202 more yards than Atlanta, 546 to 344.

The Pats had 37 first downs to Atlanta's 17.

If 344 total yards is "having their way with the Pats' D," then may Philly have their way with the Pats' D.

I know your posts before I read your name. I honestly wonder why you post here or even watch football.

Did you even watch the game last year, or just sat on the GDT whining?

Again, I realize the Patriots had the ball and were moving it. The Blount fumble & pick six opened the gates for Atlanta. They need to not fumble, throw a pick six, or try and cute plays to start the first few drives. Play the game as if you're already down 21-0.

My point is: they can't afford to be messing around to start this SB. At some point, playing one quarter, or even one half, of great football against a great D won't be enough.

Atlanta was moving the ball pretty easily in the first half. Yes, offensive mistakes led to great field position for Atlanta. But the D wasn't exactly too good in that first half.

Marshall Faulk is no longer employed by NFLN.
