One of the greatest ever.....just a shade below Edelman who I think is by far the most clutch WR pats have ever had.....his fingertip catch last SB....greatest catch of all time imho

I said this last year after the Super Bowl, aside from Brady obviously, Danny Amendola may be the most clutchest Patriot of ALL TIME.

Then he became the overpriced security blanket. Then the underpriced vet making key plays. Then an invaluable Patriots legend.

He didn't give up even after many gave up on him. I will never forget this game and some of those catches, just incredible plays from an incredible Patriot.

To think when he was signed to replace Welker he was one of the kost hated patriots on this board.

Then this offseason fans speculated he should be cut.

Kind of funny to think back on it. Especially since this guy has been taking PAYCUTS each year to stay with the team and comes up for us each and every time

I was about to type something like this but I decided to read through this thread and I agree with what you are saying.
Welker was not clutch in the biggest games. Dola's hands are so assured. You know if he gets a chance he will catch the ball.
For a moment I though Brady had thrown the ball too high when I saw Dola was his target. I was like who the hell do we have that tall for Brady to throw it like that. He had some leap on him too.

His stats wouldn't even tell the story. 6 yards here or there doesn't add up to much. 6 yards every time they need a 3rd or 4th down with a difficult catch is what makes him clutch. A TD every time they need a comeback. Two point conversion when they need one, etc.

I freaking LOVE dola. Immediately said when Jules went down that he then became the one guy we couldn’t lose

3rd and 18 was awesome, the 2nd td was incredible... 2 others just blew my mind- the speed out that got us down to like the 10... that twisting catch with the ball all the way above his head... REALLY hard catch. Great play in a big spot
I think also in the rz, his extended, diving catch over the middle was very impressive

Like how the year we went to the SB to face the seahawks it wasn't him that beat the Ravens first. Dude always show up.
