I'm sure post-game analysis will be critical of the Patriots, claiming they had a hard time winning against a team that the inferior Steelers had no problem running the score against (and losing) just a week before.
But this is the Patriots folks. We play to win. And teams play us like their lives depend on it. It's an opportunity for them to TRULY make their name, be it regular season, post season or Super Bowl. Don't forget that we validated the entire Chief's season off of a single win, a team that sputtered out and remained inconsistent. One that didn't play as well as it ever did against us.
That rationale can go multiple ways, but what the trend shows and often proves, is that people play their absolute best against us. Be it the Browns or the Seahawks. And most of the time, we come out on top, especially when it matters most.
So there might be analysis saying the Jags "lost the game themselves" or some ********. That the Patriots offense was merely kept alive by penalties on a drive or some other minute ***** fest.
But what happened, and is always the truth, is that we won against the second best team in the AFC playing their ABSOLUTE BEST on both offense and defense. And that sentiment streatches back for every win we've accumulated this season.
We are the best team. We make other teams play their best form. And only the best team can reveal the best of others, even on the other side of the field.
I'm knee deep in IPA's and wanted to write that. Enjoy this win as much as I did.
