James Harrison officially signs with Pats

Good signing when you consider all the third down conversions we have given up. I think he was the second of third most effective player for the Steelers in pressuring the qb percentage wise. It’s a no risk attempt at improving our pass rush.

Harrison is a real talent, but I see no reason to expect him to contribute here
He's no choir boy, but he's got every reason to contribute here. He's burned his bridges with PIT now. He's played big in the big games before and he wants another taste.

I'm with Mike: all we want here is a few plays where he sets the edge and/or pressures the passer, and I think he can do that better than Trevor Reilly or Grissom or whomever we have at the bottom of our 53.

Good chemistry is important to winning titles
People said similar things about Randy Moss. He's not marrying into the family, he's just a hired hand. Time will tell. In Bill We Trust!

At worst we get the Steelers' playbook

It's just a bunch of crayon markups and doodles of Tomlin drawing himself with a Super Bowl trophy and a cape while flying to the sun.

Probably on page 8 there's a scribbled note to "Gotta covr Gronk (Check wat # he is)" or something similar.

Best-case scenario, this signing will be like Andre Carter or Mark Anderson. Steelers fans have been saying he can't cover or run. But BB finds a role for a guy and won't ask him to do what he can't. So as a situational pass rusher, he'll fit right in.

Older veteran pickups

Yes
Corey Dillon
Junior Seau
Martellus Bennet
Brian Waters

No
Oucho Stinko
Steven Jackson
Albert Haynesworth?

More older veteran hits and misses?

I laughed out loud more than once at this. Lmfao

We need a pass rush especially on third downs. It would be hilarious if he becomes a significant factor in the playoffs if we play the Steelers.

What we've seen from Harrison is that he'll bring it, compete and he seems to always make an impact in the biggest games.

That's pretty good and not too inaccurate either.

Anybody know how good of a leader he is?

There is a headline scrolling across this site that states that he is excited to play with "old man" Brady. This move will spark a rule change next year.

Ted Washington

Although Harrison sets the record in just how old he is at 39.

This is an excellent pick up.
I like it too.
I know he's old but he's got fresh legs. Well at least as fresh as can be for his age.

I think he can probably help with setting the edge more than sacking QB's.
