Jete game will be c-c-c-c-cold!

I went to the Pats vs Titans Divisional playoff game in the 2003 season. I think it was 3 degrees. Before I would get back to my seats the beer I bought was freezing into ice.
The Wind Chill must have been 0 -5 degrees.

Forecast HIGH of 14 degrees, winds at 12 mph. d%#*!@t, it seems the older I get the harder it is to stay warm at these things. Sunday I bundled up pretty heavily and still got chilled -- was outdoors about six hours including tailgating. No tailgating next week, that's a given, but cannot miss seeing the accursed Jete get spanked and cry icicles.
I would check out EMS, REI etc.; and I've seen electric socks and gloves around that aren't too expensive.

I froze my butt off going to football games growing up; I don't understand how I still have any toes left...

Gillette won't allow us to bring any beverages in...but drink warmers for hot chocolate sound good to me

I don't think there'll be any problem keeping beer & soda cold...

The old gorilla suit might come in handy

Damn Tune. I don't know if you and Joker feel the same way, but I am getting a little too old for these cold games. At least the Jest game is a 1:00 p.m. game, but I am starting to dread the thought of night time playoff games and the temps likely to accompany them. I also underdressed this past weekend (should have known better!) and felt it in my bones.

Given that you represent us long distance fans at the games, and have for years, I'm happy to contribute to a Go Fund Me if you need some new thermal gear. Just post the link.

Is there such a thing as a "beer warmer?"
Might need to up your game a bit:

Just sayin'...

Same color as the old uniforms too! :D

Don't EVER talk yourelf into being "too old" to attend cold games, or else you'll stop going after October. I've been doing this for 25 years now and still have not perfected a way to stay totally comfortable in sub-freezing temps, but I go anyway. My biggest problem is the 20-minute walk from parking to the stadium all bundled up, which makes me sweat under the layers and then freeze once I've stopped. Still working on addressing that dilemma.

You laugh, but on a 12-mile ruck in 10 degree weather once, I had everything super warm, except only two real layers covering my junk. By the end of the ruck, it was frozen, and took an hour before I could feel anything and it was intense pain for about 2-3 hours while the feeling came back. If it was cold enough and I was going on a ruck or walk, I'd rock that.

I've found wearing the Under Armour (or brand of your choice) compression/moisture wicking clothing for the first layer on top of my skin, followed by a t-shirt, long-sleeve shirt, hoodie, and then jersey did the trick for me this past weekend. I wore snowboard pants over top of my compression gear for below the waist. And Merrill chameleons always keep my feet super warm, tested in some of the harshest environments outside the polar circles. I'd argue it NEEDS to be super cold to wear them or your feet will sweat like crazy.

For 14 degrees and wind chill? I've made myself comfortable enough in those conditions that I could hang out in them for a long time, but it would prevent the outside wear of my of my Pats gear...unless it was 3XL.

For us here in Maine, the current forecast is for temperatures to stay in the single digits from this Wednesday afternoon through next Wednesday afternoon. And that's on the coast (somewhat colder inland).

This is already shaping up to be the coldest start to winter we've had here in at least a decade. Liking the fact that we've had enough snow cover to protect the plants in my gardens.

For Sunday,we're forecast to start out at -5f and ramp up to a sweltering high of +2f before cooling off to -7f by Monday morning.

Needless to say, our cat is seriously pissed off and being very vocal about our need to "FIX IT!!"
I too have a furry fella who is convinced that weather is a democracy. He lets me know in no uncertain terms what his vote is on the matter

LOL, I am still going, but on New Year's I have managed to procure a bunch of tickets for my kids and their friends, so I am going to be walking to the stadium with a bunch of teenagers, that is to say that I will be walking alone, because they leave me in the dust. For me my feet are always the worst and I have never managed to find the best solution. If I wear big heavy work boots (the warmest I have found) my feet are aching by the end of the night, and I am gimping on the walk back to the car. If I wear my comfortable UGGS or sneakers (can't even consider them at this time of year), then my feet are freezing half way through the game (the cold concrete at Gillette is brutal on anything with a thin sole - foot warmers don't seem to work for me) and I am gimping back to the car. I have some Merrell hiking boots that I am going to try this weekend.

I hear you on the sweating then freezing dilemma too. I often go to an indoor tailgate so I am hot before leaving for game, freezing as I start to walk, sweating as I reach the stadium, then freezing again by half time, then the foot problem usually kicks in. God, as I read this I sound like a such a complainer, LOL. This past weekend I went with a friend who had a parking pass, so sitting in the warm car 5 minutes after leaving my seat was a treat. What I really need is someone to donate club seats and a helicopter ride for each game to me. Any volunteers? LOL.

I am going to try my Merrell hiking boots and maybe get some Under Armour for this weekend. Also, though I hate to wear snow pants to the game (so bulky and awkward) I am probably going to do that this weekend too.

I've been meaning to write to the Patriots about this for years: WHY don't they open the damn fieldhouse to fans on cold days? They do it in Buffalo and it really makes a difference, you can duck in there, change clothes, use the restroom, etc.

That would be great, but unless the Krafts are going to make some $$ off of it, I doubt they would do it.

I remember the playoff game against Tennessee. I could feel the cold through my TV.
Yes, that one was sooooo cold. We brought chili in a crock pot for tailgating and it was cold before you could bring the spoon from the bowl to your mouth (we also shorted out the cigarette lighter/old fashioned USB port thingie with the crock pot and my husband accidentally lit his gloves on fire over a portable fire pit - good times). I was so much older then, I'm younger than that now (but not my body or my damn feet!).

Have you tried the foot and hand warming inserts? I've used them outside in cold weather for more than three or four hours. They worked well for me and my kids. I put them in my tennis shoes if I'm not trudging through snow and my boots if in the snow.

It will be really cold but I’m tough enough to soldier through it, even if that means turning the heat up I’m going to make it.
