TBH, the 9ers actually made a mistake starting JG this season; he's playing beyond exceptions, going to break the bank.

If they hadn't, they might have needed to hedge their bets. Now they know that they have their guy, and can focus on building around him.

Its not about crowning him. Even at ARZ last year, he called an audible at the line on the road in SNF to Hogan for a TD. In the first half vs MIA, he put on a clinic in decision making and accuracy to the tune of 4 first half TDs. Even with a small sample size, he was checking all the boxes.

Now that he's not in NE, people are finally coming around to the truth of how talented he is. I was fully on board with him being TB's successor last year but it just didn't work out based on the timing.

Its bittersweet when you trade away the next great QB.

Yes, they're playing the 10-4 Jaguars that are currently the third seed in the AFC. Garoppolo is having a field day against arguably the best pass defense in the league. This is probably the most impressive performance of his career.
