Considering BB's already talked to the commish and gave his side what's taking them so long? They already have the tape so they don't need to examine evidence. And the other rumors concerning the Patriots are just that at this point and I don't know of there ever being evidence against the Patriots concerning any of the those rumors (audio freqencies and the like). So, why can't the Commish just get this over with already? If we really have to wait until Friday that's gonna suck since yesterday and today have felt extremely long waiting for any news on the situation. It'd also be nice to get this all settled so we can move on.

So, has it been proven beyond a reasonable doubt that it did in fact happen? Or is it still speculation?

No. And I love your signature and agree wholeheartedly...

I think the reports make it pretty clear that the Patriots did have an employee on the field with a camera, which is against league rules.

That's the only league rule they violated, anything else is just media fluff.

A decision can come tomorrow, Friday or any day after. We'll know when we know -- BB.

It seems to me that this "cameraman" was not even trying to be discreet in filming, doesnt that seem a bit odd?

That's all speculation, but from Belichick's comments his interpretation of the rule was that it was OK to have the guy out there. At least that's was what I got from it. He could just being trying to cover his ass, though.

They are cogitating (thanks, Tiki) on taking their finger out of their ###, so they can stick it in the air to see which way the winds are blowing.

Its an old political trick, to wait 'till Friday to make an announcement that you don't want people to pay much attention to. The Saturday paper is the least read and Friday newscasts are pretty low rated. So if they do hold the announcement until then its probably an indication that they don't think the decision will be well received by football fans in general. Now since we're the evil, evil Patriots to the rest of the league's fans, it follows that they aren't going to do much.

This assumes that they're actually holding off on announcing though, they might not have fully decided yet.

He's made up his mind. He just wants the appearance that his decission is based on lots of hard work, weighing all the evidence so that the most appropriate action is taken.

"We find it's always better to fire people on a Friday. Studies have statistically shown that there's less chance of an incident if you do it at the end of the week."

The end of the football week is Monday

Good point, plus talk show radio plays into this and the weekend college and pro games. All it gives them is the Friday evening commute (if they announce a decision at, say 5:30) to harangue the commish before the news is overwhelmed by the results of the weekend.
