I am aware that is the rule. I'm disagreeing that's the best rule for a catch. I'm not sure, but I think it was different many years ago.

It was different - you could catch the ball in the air in the EZ and it was a TD before you contacted the ground. Changed because there were TDs where the ball was held less than a fraction of a second. The rule now treats the EZ and the field the same when it comes to catches. It is not that complicated.

Dumb question time: Pending Pats & Steelers take care of Bills and Texans respectively, how much do you play the starters against Jets?

The whole game. If NE and PIT both win next week, they both go into the final game at 12-3. If NE loses and PIT wins, PIT takes #1. So NE has to play to win. Especially if JAX wins out. Remember, if JAX wins out NE can't get #2. So NE losing final game and PIT winning final game in your scenario knocks NE down to #3. Can't have that happen.

Wanted to wait until tmw to start criticizing but I totally agree with your point about Cooks. Been saying it for a while but it really looks like Josh has no clue how to use him properly or put him into a position (in space) in which he can flourish.

I am not sure he will ever be a player who can beat man except for outrunning the other player or via the comeback route.

The Steelers best shot for the SB was winning today. Now it is NE losing the divisional game.
