I would give anything to have had the Pats win the 85 superbowl. I always believed that if that game was played a week after the AFCGC, the Pats would have been more competitive. They were on a roll. I loved that era of Pats.

The 85 Bears team was historic while the Packers were not so I have to go with 85. That team had been charmed all post season with turnovers and when the SB started with another one I was momentarily optimistic. Did not last long unfortunately.

No kidding. When Sweetness fumbled and we went up 3-0 I thought they were going to win again. I was a teenager. I didn't know any better.

I just wish the 85 Pats didn't play scared like so many AFC teams did for years in the Super Bowl. I'd be happy with a moral victory like that, win or not.

Regards,
Chris

85 team, easily.

I would love it if Grogan, Tippet, Blackmon, and Clayborn (my favorites from that team) had a ring.

I still periodically watch my VCR tape, yes VCR!, of the AFCCG against the Fins. Love that game. Love that team.

And the Bears of that era would be regarded as the most underachieving team in history. They probably should be anyway. That team should have won more than 1 SB.

1985 without question.

I remember every one of those playoff games.

Beating the Bears would have been beyond incredible.
I remember them, too. All on the road.

I started watching the Pats in ‘92 (I was 12) so I have no attachment for the ‘85 Team. I’ll never forgive Parcells for the ‘96 SB loss which I will always blame on his distraction.

That GB team was historic, they just didn't have such a memorable calling card.

That said, I still choose 85.

The whole Raiders game is on youtube.

MIA as well.

Havent been able to find the Jests one. They actually had a very good team.

AFC East was loaded that year. 3 teams with over 11 wins.

If the question is who would win in a rematch, it's easy. Bledsoe played well in 96, they only lost cause of a kick off return.

If it's who I would have liked to, it's 85 without question. Younger fans have no idea of the emotion and payback, the vengeance in the Miami and Oakland games. Like destroying two schoolyard bullies who'd been taking your lunch money for decades and laughing.

I would have gone out of my mind if they'd won that Super Bowl against the arrogant Bears.

There was no juice in a Jets rivalry back then. Seems they were good when we sucked and vice versa.

Not like it is now but that year we won a close one in Foxboro and tough OT loss in NY.

85, it was such an unlikely road to the SB and would have been cool to see them win....
