Gronkowski Likely Facing Penalty From NFL After Hit On Sunday

FWIW, even Prime and Tomlinson both agreed Gronk shoudn't get any a single game. Personally, I can see the league handing him a 1 game suspension at worse, and Prime said if the league does that Gronk will appeal and win given what happened in the Talib/Crabtree and Ramsey/Green fights.
it won't be more than one game. I would just serve it in the Miami game. Also, the Pats win the one seed even with one more loss as long as it is not Pitt.

Gronk has got to be smarter then that. Playing the way he does, "throwing guys out of the club" (which was a clean play btw), he has got to understand that he is a target, and since he plays for the Pats he is even a bigger one. He F'd up, he was wrong and will face a harsh penalty. Big fine and a 1 game suspension is just, imo. However, I see a multiple game suspension so Gronk is not around for the Steelers game. The NFL knows that game is coming up and will ask themselves "How can we effect and hurt the Pats the most?"
as much as conspiracy theory Pats fans on this board think that crap, the league is not fixed in that manner against the Pats or any team. it is silly

Just about all local media are "calling" for a 1 game suspension - is this because they have to try to maintain their "objectivity cred" ? Tom Curran definitely got the "be more edgy and controversial" memo from someone because he's been full of hotsportztakez lately, and was in favor of a Gronkowski suspension last night...

bunch of god damn ****y liberals now days. this is what should be considered normal football, but now with all the ****ies in the world, what else do you expect. they should go watch Tatum, Lambert, Dobler highlights

I see a 2 game suspension incoming with it being appealed down to one. The bigger concern is the payback that may potentially happen in the next Bills game.

If it’s true that the hit came before the whistle blew then there’s no suspension coming.
The whistle isn't some magic "excuse all violence" thing. Doesn't matter if it hadn't blown. (1) The player was clearly OOB and (2) head shots are illegal before or after the whistle.

So when do you volunteer to start letting people take a shovel to your head, Mr. Internet Tough Guy? We'll even be nice and let you wear a helmet.

White deserved it. That ******** cost Brady a BS interception, and that's what this whole thing is about for me

No question it was illegal either way... but there could be an argument made that the play was still live and therefore a suspension is not warranted. Or at least if there is one, the argument is made when he appeals.

I don't see how or why that should matter. It's not like it was something that was even close to being legal if the play was live.

He deserves a suspension which I think it more than fair for injuring another player on a cheap shot. If its 2 it will get appealed down to 1.

Unbelievable people were crying the week before about how dirty Miami was in that game but there are some in here defending this **** Gronk did this week.

It won't matter in terms of right and wrong or some kind of punishment from the league. It might matter if we're talking suspension.

He made great plays. Yee haw - I was enjoying his performance too. He also got penalized regularly and got in a cheap shot that opens the team up to cheap hits from other teams.

The reason the Patriots outperform other teams is because they value the intangibles alongside the statlines. With Belichick stating the play was "bullsh*t" as he met with
Sean McDermott midfield, I suspect Gronk might find his time nearing an end with the Patriots. No matter how talented someone is, Belichick has a track record of not putting up with selfish garbage because it can poison the whole locker room. Why should Gronk get away with penalties and undisciplined play when the rest of the roster is held to a higher standard?
1 time doesn't make it a habit. BB has years of seeing Gronk play to understand if this is typical of his behavior.

what are you talking about? Gronk was interferred with, held , grabbed and bashed illegally downfield all game, just liek the ENTIRE SEASON@!!!!He gets NO CALLS!! THAT'S WHY!!! WTF is this goddamned "victim"
shyt??}? I'm no ****in' victim. I KNOW what the **** I'm watching every week. Was that penalty deserved, in a vacuum? Absolutely. But given the context and the subsequent non call on OBVIOUS PASS INTERFERENCE, every Patriots fan should be INCENSED The ****in' scoire has ZERO to do with anything. Call the game the proper way., not "we have different rules for Gronk and other rules for players defending him" . This stunk today. Corrente was deliberately screwing with the rules.
Joker, good to see you posting my friend. My take as a Patsfan is to bifurcate the two. I am incensed that Gronk gets held, molested etc with no calls where if he simply looks the wrong way its OPI, that is ridiculous and I can see why he gets frustrated. All that said what he did out of the frustration was just wrong there is no place for that in the game or in "The Patriot Way" it was complete BS and selfish and will hurt his team when the NFL most likely suspends him. If the NFL doesn't suspend him I hope BB does do something to hold him out as an example to the rest of team.

The Patriots in the Brady and Belichick era have been the most successful team for the longest period of time in NFL history and Patriots fans think the league is against us. It's completely insane.

Some Patriots fan you are, touting Jack Tatum highlights.

his tweets weren't favoring suspension during the eagles game?

Yes, there is a certain degree of ridiculous paranoia in this forum. Seriously.... when the league announced thy were going to centralize replays in the NY office, some people in here thought that was all some grand master plan to screw the Patriots.....

We should also be talking about why the ref didn’t call defensive holding and then pass interference on the play

They might have everything locked up. He likely won't play by that time.
