i dont think you can criticize someone until the what they do adversely affects the team.

cassius didn't work out, we used 2 draft picks.

we are currently the favorite to win the superbowl, and the defense is playing better today then it was earlier this season.

when was the last time the patriots "won" the offseason? never? im guessing never.

who gives a **** if some 5th and 7th round picks didn't pan out perfectly, so long as the guys playing in place of those picks performs.

When you consider that much of our roster is built on players taken in the 5th round or later you have to give a **** if we give up 2 picks and get little in return.

Brady
Lewis
Burkhead
Amendola
Edelman
Andrews
Butler
Cannon
Roberts
Hogan
Guy

None of these players were selected in the first 4 rounds of the draft.

We might not feel an immediate impact but mistakes impact the long game.

Cooks, Burkhead, Gilmore and now even Allen are all pretty decent acquisitions. Remember, it takes time to develop in the Pats system on both sides of the ball.

BB & Co. saw Lee during the preseason when he was with the Texans, so they must see something in him. You may very well be right but I'm curious why you are so certain he will be a failure.
Fair enough. Eric Lee will be a failure here because he doesn't possess the size, athleticism, or track record of success anywhere else, to hope that he won't be a failure here too.

Sorry, but you can't predict that Rivers would suffer a year ending injury and he was playing extremely well. You all can't predict Hightower going down for the year..
Rivers played in one preseason game. He showed promise in that game but when exactly was he playing extremely well?

Just about anyone could predict Hightower would suffer an injury. He does every year, it is not exactly a difficult thing to predict.

It's odd that 1970s TV is more edgy than what is on today. I was watching an old Johnny Carson bit from the late 70s and none of that would have passed without crazy controversy.
I remember watching the Tonight Show in 1979 during one of his bits following his monologue and commercial break. He was reading a study that claimed that the effects of marijuana aren't felt until about 30 minutes after consumption. Some in the audience started giggling. Then Carson said "I don't know…must be pretty weak stuff." The audience howled in laughter. Classic.

Bingo.

Unfortunately, the IBIT lemmings fail to grasp this Truth: ALL draft picks are precious commodities, and must be treated, and dealt, accordingly. Unfortunate also that Bill & his toady Cesario have all too often fail to grasp this, in both their trades and in the players chosen with those picks.

I think people overlook how many mistakes having Tom Brady covers up.

I don't know enough about him, but he is the same size as Nink and his 40 time is faster. I did notice that his pro-day 3 cone drill numbers were slower. I guess we'll see.

Gillislee is a loss to this point. If you're going to try claiming a lack of homer bias, you have to acknowledge something that obvious.

If he comes back and has a stinker of a game, I could see him being released as well. The exact same thing as Marsh. People always talk about BB not liking error repeaters. Marsh had trouble setting the edge. He sat on the bench for a few games. Guess what, he showed in Mexico that he has not learned. He is an error repeater. And BB promptly released him. Again, BB is very consistent. Gillislee better perform well in his next game.

Even Bill's first rounders have been sucking. Malcom with one L is a fat stiff, and Easley was gone after two years.

But don't worry, the AFC sucks and we'll just have Brady throw it 75 times in the SB.

every single team in the league will take our "mistakes impact the long game" over their own.

A big win is a ridiculous assertion. He has been a solid acquisition. Signing Mallcom Butler as an UDFA is a big win. Flowers value has been what was anticipated.

He is a great ST player and contributes on many levels there making it a big win. But you can of course just go on minimizing how important ST are.

Want to criticize Brady?

He's got the best headcoach of all time putting a team behind him!!

Want to criticize Belichick?

He's got the best quarterback of all time covering up his mistakes!!

Gillislee was a cheap acquisition? He has the 15th highest cap hit of any RB in the NFL and he cost us a 5th round pick on top of that. You don’t even know what you’re talking about you just type it with the hope that nobody bothers to check the validity of it.

I might have over done the Amendola bashing and I have owned that many times. For the record though my issues with Amendola were primarily financially and seeing as the team has asked him to restructure 3 years in a row I don’t think my position was wrong, my approach was simply excessive.

We did not win the Brissett trade and anyone who would argue otherwise is a delusional homer and that’s not even debatable.

Yeah everything you just said is total garbage with the JB stuff at the end among the stupidest takes I have ever seen on this board. Trading a third string QB that just doesnt fit the offense is not a mistake. Especially if you upgrade on him almost immediately with Hoyer.

It's ok to criticize players. This is a discussion board. Some people don't understand that. A few people think it's their forum and what they say is always correct. I don't know what you said about amendola but most of us discuss how players have performed based on their present contribution. It's usually on point. If that player later exceeds our expectations, then great, we eat some crow and win some games:. No one can predict the future. It childish to say ,"I told you so" a few months later when someone we are disappointed in improves.

No it just means you were wrong as you have been many times..

Do you know how many special teams tackles Flowers has this season?

A fifth round pick at the end of the round is cheap. And the cap hit matters less than having a diverse RB group and the depth for when one of them inevitably gets injured. Especially in a year where we had a lot of space and the cap continuing to go up.

It is the same stupid argument others try to make with Allen when in reality it doesnt matter because in both cases there are outs after the year. You cap space is not a savings account that you want to grow but you use it to build a team. Gillislee fulfills a role/niche that none of the other RBs should.

Again you are not arguing against me but beat guys and former players who have a similar opinion. But I suppose you know it better than people that actually lived the life.

How does this matter ? Especially on ST ?

By that logic should I rate CBs based on PBUs or tackles which means if a QB is avoiding them they will be among the worst on that list.

Go into all 22.. I especially recommend the game against the Bucs and against the Broncos and check out how he performs on returns. Most of that will not show up on the stats sheet.

Upgrade by signing a journeyman backup. You should be embarrassed with some of the baseless nonsense you spit on here. Brissett is 23 years old and has performed as a top 20 QB this season, and you consider Brian Hoyer a career backup and upgrade.
