I think this just goes to show how much the Pats are HATED. PFT admitted that envy and jealousy was probably the motivation behind the Moss getting cut rumor and the Belichick disses the Jets safety crap.

This is just one more in a long line of recent attempts to distract the Pats and it's gaining fire because everybody outside of New England would like it to be true.

If we'd lost, do you think this issue would ever have been raised?

Remember the Pats only won SB 36 because of 9/11 and the NFL wanted to have a team called the Patriots win.

If we'd had the signals, then Pennington would have thrown at least ONE interception. I mean, this is just ridiculous.

As for the article, a person with Patriots Credentials was "put up to it" by the Pats organization? I think that BS. If ANYTHING, I wouldn't be surprised if the person was put up to it by the JETS organization just to get the Pats in trouble.

Okay, what do we know right now?

A tape was sent in to the league office. No one has revealed what is actually on the tape.

The Bills are suspicious that "something was up" last year. Did they actually find any evidence at the time? No.

So far absolutely nothing has been proven. What makes this interesting is that some of these teams- Lions and Packers- were facing us for the only time during the season. This leads me to believe that this guy is involved in sign stealing and not video documentation. It is very possible that the Patriots are using a loophole in the rules. It is legal to use "recording devices" with their zoom lenses to get signs, but not legal to record the coaches.

My guess is we'll have to wait a while, certainly nothing will come down from the league tomorrow. The NFL won;t just decide right away.

Yeah, but ESPN has had some less than shining moments recently as well. Anyone remember Michael Vick not pleading guilty to killing dogs? All over ESPN.

It's clear that complaints have been filed and the tape was confiscated and all that....but we don't know what actually happened. It's possible the Pats were exploiting what they thought was a loophole and it's not.

I never really feel 100% comfortable about Patriots games and am always certain we are going to win but I think we beat the Chargers and I am not even a little nervous about them. Unfortunately we've got a bit of a wait.

Still makes no sense. There's nothing in the rulebook that says BB or whoever can't watch the other sideline and notice a particular coach send in a signal and then notice an all out blitz on the next play and put the two together. What possible benefit does the videotape provide that some intern with a pencil and paper doesn't? Is it against the rules for a junior coach to write "Mangina touched his right knee with his left hand and appeared to burp. Subsequently, the Jest played a two deep zone."
