I read Bob's fraud comment as referring to the Jets and not the Pats. Jets have had just about as easy a schedule as possible and they won 2 games where they were outplayed for much of the game. If the Pats are going to be the team we think they should be then this one should not be close. That said, the Jets have played close games with the Pats going back years regardless of the talent difference so while optimistic I never put any game in the bank until its played.

I could make a case that the Patriots are a fraud 3-2 team as well. If a few plays went the other way this season, the Pats could be 1-4.
This is the post calling the patriots a fraud 3-2. It wasn't bob that said it.

One team will be a mediocrity at 3-3 and the other will be in the thick of the playoff hunt after the game on Sunday. The post could be correct. It would nice to see the Patriots play a complete game on both sides of the line of scrimmage for a change.

You expect we lose to the Jete?

That post was accurate.
Football is a game of a couple 100 milliseconds and inches.
When your team is so close to the edge in several games, you're not a force.

While I agree that the Jets are a 3-2 fraud team, let's not forget the Pats were considered a fraud team in 2001.
?? and it would take the same miracle and great QB for the jets to win this year

Yes, a DEEPLY flawed analogy

I don’t think the Pats are frauds but I could make the case given how poorly they’ve played so far. My comment was a warning to OP about making snap judgements about other teams.

But the jets have no talent.

Also what people said and were thinking about the 2001 Pats team.

Trust me, I'm not saying the Jets will be good, but a good start can create some positive vibe that can carry a team. That won't happen here, but a 3-2 start is a impressive for a team that I thought was EASILY the worst in the league.

Compared to this Jets team, the 2001 Pats were absolutely stacked with talent. They had relatively little talent for a SB winner, but they were one of the more talented teams in the league overall.

I think what we're quickly realizing with the Jets is that the guys they let go weren't actually that talented. Of all the vets they parted ways with, Marcus Gilchrist and Sheldon Richardson are the only ones that are performing. Marshall, Harris and Decker all appear to be done, and Revis and Mangold are out of the league. It turns out the new guys aren't much of a downgrade, because the old guys sucked too.

So you think the patriots as a 3-2 team are a fraud?

I thought the jets were sucking for luck?

The Patriots are practicing on Tuesday, normally an off day, so they WILL HAVE a extra bit of practice to regroup for the Jete
This is per Reiss, on twitter.

Yes, AFTER the season, folks thought that we had a lot of talent, although not compared to SB winners. Before the season, folks thought that we had little talent.

Not to mention that by all rights the Patriots should be 2-3. Play that dropped INT before the game-winning TD against Houston over and over 100 times and NE loses that game at least 95 times.

Yes, in the exact words of sports illustrated's lead NFL writer, Dr. Z., on the week that Bledsoe was hurt and Brady took over...

"I don't see that they have the talent with which to win a game"

Before the season the combination of Bledsoe, Woody, Glenn, Brown, McGinest, Law, Milloy, Smith, Vrabel, Bruschi, Phifer, Seymour and Light coming in as high picks... that was generally considered not enough to make them a talented team, the consensus had them below average, but still way ahead of the 2017 Jets at least.
