Steve Balestrieri

Brady entered the game with just three healthy wide receivers and put on an absolute clinic in the first quarter throwing for 177 yards and three TDs.

The Defensive Rookies Show Up - Wise and J Jones

So this was a dominating performance from Wise - a sack, five QB pressures and a couple of tackles for a loss. And all that in only 28 snaps!

Deatrich Wise looks like a draft steal for the Patriots

And JJ Jones, with 27 snaps on defense, had a couple of great plays too.

Patriots Notes: Jonathan Jones Comes Through In Clutch Vs. Saints

Jones is short, but really fast, explosive and strong - compare his stats to the other CBs:

Small CB Jonathan Jones could have a big impact

Edit: as has been pointed out below, J Jones actually saw some snaps on defense last year, so not actually a rookie at all.

Jones was on the team last year.

He played well except for one play

I specifically came to this forum to read people's thoughts on deatrich wise's play. Inexplicably, that interesting thread is dumped into a generalized thread of observations regarding "Brady and the Pats". This is the definition of over-moderation. It's soft censorship and there's no reason for it.

I understand there is some trade-off between fragmentation and specific interests, and I concede my Wise thread was on the border - I did wonder myself about posting it as a separate thread.

More on Wise here:

In 34 pass-rush snaps, Wise has recorded seven quarterback pressures (sacks, hits and hurries), according to Pro Football Focus. Though it's a small sample size, those numbers have made him one of the most productive pass-rushers in the league on a per-snap basis through two weeks.

Patriots seem to have found another impactful pass-rusher in Deatrich Wise
