It is so bizarre and ignorant I'm doubting my own ears.

Faurier, commenting on the Jags early success running up the middle, said that Wilfork's retirement creates a lot of opportunity for the young DT's that wasn't available before because he took up so much space and playing time.

Somebody help me...is he really that out of touch?

Damn man. I'm a tolerant guy or at least I think I am but I think Fauria is God awful. It is absolutely cringe worthy.

Here are a couple Fauria gems from last night.

"leakage coming out the backside"

"No, Jimmy G isn't Tom Brady!"

Said "antidote" instead of "anecdote"

And then just started rhyming for no reason.

Fauria is really the definition of meathead

Also, his "chemistry""with Dan Roche is more like a bully picking on a geeky guy (but not in an obvious light-hearted contrived Mike & Mike way, more in a "I genuinely have no respect for you" way) which adds even more awkwardness on top of his ineptness as a commentator.

Perhaps next pre-season we can finally get some guys who aren't from the Bob's Discount Commentator store.

Watching pre-season Pats broadcasts is like watching a bunch of frat-boy assholes standing in front of the TV and having a football "knowledge" ****-measuring contest with the game going on in the background.

I would. And they sucked, too.

Surprising comment Randy Cross knew next to nothing about the Patriots and their players, and Glanville was a bombastic cowboy..

There is always the radio duo of Socci/Zolak if you can tolerate the delay...

I can tolerate (Bo)Zo less than anyone we've mentioned.

I always find the lack of polish on the pre-season production value to be kind of adorable. A little bit of a throwback to earlier times when a NFL game didn't have production resources thrown at it from every angle.

@betterthanthealternative Good call on making a thread though because this one's pretty funny.

Is there a live stream of Zolak broadcast during season or is it on the airwaves only?

Aside from a few notable "morans" here, I'd greatly prefer preseason commentary by a couple randomly selected Patsfans posters each week. Make it happen, Ian.

Fauria started off ok and I was thinking he might have gotten coached up a bit. But as the game went on he lost more and more control of himself, letting more and more stupid out, faster and faster.

I guess we should tuck these atrocities away in our minds for midseason, when we're all groaning over the national network broadcasters and asking why they can't get somebody, anybody else. It's remarkable how few people can sustain a live 3-hour broadcast bearably.

(But hey, network dudes: Ed McCaffrey is one. I heard his radio coverage of a Broncos game and he was excellent. Sign the beast!)

That could be interesting. Make it a skype with 20 or so PatsFans, one calling plays and the other 19 doing color commentary.
