The 72 dogs Chestnut ate means he had to have ate one hot dog every 10 seconds for 12 straight minutes!
The total Calories Chestnut took in was 9ver 21,100!!

I haven't paid attention since the little guy was kicked out or quit, or whatever. He was like the hot dog contest villain of sorts. I believe that he actually held his own timed contest via closed circuit TV which went directly up against Nathan's famous contest. When he was involved I found it to be competitive. Now, it just seems like Chestnut tries to beat his own record.

I've actually wagered through my online sports book on this ridiculousness back in the day.

IMO these type of contests illustrate some major issues with our country.. or proves the spirit of PT Barnum is alive and well.

Still trying to reconcile what can be good or positive about something like this.. as they carry Chestnut out on a float .. watching a guy choke with his eyes watering while he stuffs hot dogs down his throat is bizarre if not idiotic...
