There are some fans out there who still claim the GOAT never had a "big arm". And while he is definitely not on Mount Rushmore for big armed QBs, I've always felt he had an underrated arm. Back in his physical peak in 07, he could comfortably throw it at least 70 yards downfield.

Checkout this 70 yard throw back in 2007 at 2:26 mark. He barely even stepped into that throw

2:15 mark, completes a 62 yard throw on the dime to moss

This throw, depending on how you calculate the angle, went about 72-75 yards in the air.

I heard someone comment today on ESPN that Brady is thinner now than he was, and this has much to do with his concentrating on arm strength over a more muscular build. The speaker was comparing him to some of the Mets many disabled pitchers, who he thought focused too much on overall body strength to the detriment of their throwing arm.

Loved the clips. Thanks to the OP.

Brady has plenty of zip on the ball when he needs it.

Check this video clip out. It shows both his touch and bullet passes.

Every time I watch that pass, I go a little Yosemite Sam....

Brady's strength has long been his controlled, assasin precision and intelligence. IMO this is what made him the GOAT and is much more difficult and impressive than guys with the long ball.

With that said, Brady's long ball is nothing to sniff at, even though many love to.

For most of his career, he has not had the benefits of a long ball receiver - when he did he lit the world on fire. Even without Moss he has had plenty of impressive throws/TD's to more "pedestrian" receivers (Brown, Branch, Edelman, Hogan etc.)

When it comes down to it, Brady has only a couple of weaknesses so people love to exaggerate them.

Still the GOAT and they know it.

************. Who said that, Max Kellerman?

Exactly. Brady is one of those guys who can hit 330 off the tee easily but only hits it 275 b/c he'd rather have a perfectly placed tee shot

I loved all of the clips, except for the last one. We are all riding high right now, was it necessary to remind us about the ending of the first Giants Super Bowl? . I had forgotten how close that was to being caught. Am I correct that they were out of timeouts, so the clock would have run out anyway? That would make me feel a little bit better.

Edit: They had a timeout. I'm depressed, for the night at least. Moss needs to fight for that ball and make the catch. What a throw.

The argument against his arm strength has nothing to do with how far he can chuck one with a full wind up. You will notice that Brady does need time for his full motion to whip that thing with his whole motion to get it that far. (The Super Bowl 42 one is a good example)

He is the GOAT easy, however Rodgers can chuck it 65 yards with really no time falling backwards mostly with arm strength with no running start. Brady needs all his mechanics to get that kind of throw off. I could throw a football roughly 60 yards when I was in my 20s with noone and nothing going on around me using all the throwing mechanics, body and a running start. Bledsoe could literally fling the ball using arm. He was not a super great all time QB but he could do some of that. Farve and Rodgers had/have ridiculous arm strength.

I just wish Brady threw it far enough to hit Moss in stride in Superbowl XLII. That was a touchdown right there.

It hurt for a while but it's time to move on bro. Brady's got 2 SB MVPs since then. Embrace that.

The winner of most NFL QB's in throwing competition that I can recall threw it about 75-80 yards.

You mean, Brady not only has lightening speed, but he can throw the football as well?
