Even the media gets PUP wrong

Making the team out of the gate was now out of the question. The only other options were being placed on injured reserve and missing the entire season or the reserve-physically unable to perform list, with the possibility of coming back after Week 6.

Once a player practices in TC, he becomes ineligible for Reserve-PUP.

That's why I lobby for a FAQ with this and other info like the PS rules to be posted at the top of the page. Would save numerous threads.

I agree really POOR...writers should understand the rules and the details of them...totally shoddy...a bit surprised but...have seen it before. One would think someone would have caught it...GOOD post for pointing it out...

I am always surprised how often the media gets simple rules wrong. The other day on PTI Kornheiser said something about putting a player who just got hurt on the Physically Unable to Perform list. Maybe he meant IR, maybe he just doesn't understand PUP. But a guy who earns his living reporting on sports ought to know what he is talking about.

KG has never struck me as a knowledgeable reporter. She writes fill-in articles that are heavy with quotes and general impressions and empty of football analysis.

I've wondered occasionally about the path of sportswriter, whether it came first from sports or first from writing. The best are those who love the game and love the language. Tom Curran is a good example of that.

I'm not sure what KG's path has been. It doesn't appear to have started with football. (One doesn't have to have played football in high school to learn to analyze it, but I'm sure it helps ).
