according to Schefter.

Not a free agent yet. But they may have a deal where Hightower will go back to the Patriots and give them a chance to match any offer.

Unfortunately (or not) . expected . knowing how BB runs things
Its too much money in a weak FA . slim chance he comes back Id guess

I get it, but at the same time, I think he's going to be offered a lot more elsewhere. It's silly money out there right now and teams are handing out cash like candy. I hope he stays, but I fear he might be gone now. IMO he's extremely important to the defense. He makes plays when you need them most. I hope he resigns, but I'm nervous.

Bye bye.

He's gone. They just seem too far apart.

Yup. Somewhat funny in a way. All the people here who shouted down those like me who said not so fast on them signing Jones, Collins etc last season are being proven right.

How's that looking now? Where I will state I have zero idea of what happens next is....who the hell do they spend their 65ish million in cap space on?

Interesting. Well thanks for the rings and your big plays... hopefully somehow we can get him back here but not for what I'm sure he wants.

Teams will pay the franchise tag value for multiple years. Imo he's on his way out. Thanks for all the clutch plays on the biggest stage.

"Bill, what are your thoughts on losing all of Jones/Collins/Hightower within 1 year?"

He's gone.

The system here works, but damn it can be a cruel one at times. Most don't last through it.

He's gone. They just seem too far apart. Frankly I am not sure he wants to be here and sure as hell don't get the feeling he will take a discount to stay.
what is hightower asking and what are the patriots offering?
.

Would be a huge loss, some team is going to gain a nice player if he leaves.

He's a good leader and has made huge plays in the biggest games.

IDK honestly. If they don't plan to be in on any of the top guys I don't see it being super obvious. I just hope we lock up Butler long term for 6 years at this point.

No idea but I think he wants the highest offer anyone offers.

People need to calm down. Two years ago everyone said McCourty was gone too when the Pats decided not to tag him. And the Pats ended up making McCourty one of the highest paid safeties in the League after free agency began with McCourty as an UFA. Hightower isn't gone yet.
