Salty

Football Zebras generally agrees with the chop block from what they could see. It was in a unique part of the field for the block, and the positioning of the crew caused them to likely not notice it.
6 officiating observations from Super Bowl LI

The 2 point conversion is Pete Prisco being a moron, and unsurprisingly his colleague picking up on it. What part of "more than one yard from the line of scrimmage" isn't clear, when they were at the one yard mark?????

Also, since when does two equal "several" as per the headline?

And there's still the questionable penalty on McClellan's extra point block, which may have made the Amendola two point conversion moot.

That's it. The rest of the game was very fairly called.

agreed....but i love the saltiness so much i'm ok with giving him the clicks he so desires

Man remember when the media lost their minds over the two blatant uncalled holds on the biggest play of Superbowl 42? No? Me either, strange... It's almost like they wanted two ticky tacky calls made in a game where the refs let a lot slide simply to derail the Patriots.

all in all, that crew did a decent job letting them play

was there a lot of holding in the d-backfield? sure......but i am a fan of letting them play in games like this and calling the egregious stuff

there's really on one hold, on amendola late, where he was dragged down with a ball thrown to him, that really should have been called and wasn't......

the extra point was the wrong call, but it happens......if the outcome was different, say they lost because of ghost's doink, i'm sure i'd look at it differently, but all in all i was ok with the way they called the game.....and i was ok while the game was happening, too (not just looking back it if with winner's goggles)

Nobody reads Prisco. That guy is a toolbag.

Seriously, he always questions BB's decision making.

Refresh my memory if I'm missing something but I don't remember any of the national media nitpicking like this through the big games the Pats have lost looking for injustices. Last year's regular season debacle in Denver and The Game That Shall Not Be Named come to mind as examples of big games that contained plenty of costly calls (and non-calls...Eli in the grasp..ugh!) that only we fans have cared enough to ***** about. Haters gonna hate!!!

In the week after the SB last year, I remember a few articles pointing out missed penalties that aided the Broncos, like the defense batting a fumble toward the end zone and being offsides on a missed/blocked Carolina FG attempt. Those stories had a short shelf life. We'll see if the same thing happens this year.

i am giving no credence to the article.....i just love the saltiness as much as i loved the pregame hate

Hogan was standing on the 1. That makes his block legal.

As for the chop block, I'd have to see a video. A still frame proves nothing.

If they want to talk about those, let's talk about the ones that weren't called on Atlanta.

Facemask on Sanu
Illegal Hands to the Face by their Offensive line (about half a dozen times)
Illegal Hands to the Face by their D-line at least twice..
PI against Alford that clearly kept Edelman from catching one.
PI against Beasley on the play in the End Zone.

You will have a hard time blaming this one on the officials. There are games that come down to a penalty, some that come down to a bad penalty.

The closest penalty that could have affected ththe game is the PI against Bennett, which was obvious.

dont forget the late hit/oob on Edelman on the very first drive

By the way, everyone, salt is a garnish and the GOAT eats everything.

Their salty tears are delicious.

Went on the 98.5 douchebag show 2 years SB week andall he did was give reasons why Belichick if he won a 4th as a HC still wouldn't be the best ever. Used 4th and 3 as an example.

The DPI called on the TD right before that extra point was pretty suspect too.

It was PI in the base explanation of the rule. But you call that kind of PI then you have to call a lot of things going on in that game (nothing borderline PI or D holding was being called especially in the second half). And what was going on in that game? Butler's play was SOP defense. You want to see some stretched jerseys (classic defensive holding)? Watch Atl's pass D throughout the SB. There isn't a Patriot WR whose jersey wasn't one size bigger after the game.

Then consider the borderline nature of the call yet it was instrumental in causing a second half, 4 point swing (that isn't called and it is fourth down - Atl kicks a FG). You don't throw that flag in a SB but whiners will look the other way on that.

Then take a look at the two late calls against the Falcons -- they were grossly blatant (compare Butler's and Atl Defender's PI calls - forgetaboutit). Further, that 4th quarter holding call on Atl that was a blatant, headlock, WWF take down, that play also contained a clear, extended, gross facemask not called on the same play (on Atl). Further, let's not forget the zebras also gave a valuable point to Atl based on a bad call (imagine if we don't convert the 2 point at the end? That stolen point would have been the difference).

No serious person is pointing to the zebras on the win/loss of this game. There were a few up and down calls but they let them play for the most part (the way it should be). Media blowhards that need clicks need to find some sort of tabloid splash to get clicks and this guys is a tabloid blowhard.

Yep. They were consistent and fair. That call didn't line up with the overall feel, but it wasn't like the made it up.

I'd never heard of this guy before so im not goingto waste valuable awake time reading someone who is butthurt.
