Will the Dolphins play their starters on Sunday?

Certainly not ideal for them. While the Dolphins are likely to give us a battle in Miami, they just don't win in Foxboro especially this late in the year.

I actually think the Dolphins could be the third best team in the AFC right now with Carr's injury. I think they can beat any of the other playoff teams besides the Pats in Foxboro. They'd have trouble in Arrowhead but I could see them taking down the Steelers.
I wouldn't go that far. They almost lost to the bills on Saturday.

There is little doubt Miami will be playing to win. Even a seed jump as semi-inconsequential as #6 to #5, it is something quite tangible to play for. Further, the Phins would love to roll into the Playoffs having planted their flag in the ground with a triumph in Foxboro against the Patriots.

With that said, if the Patriot O and D pitch a strong first half, I think there will end up being room in the 4th quarter for resting anyone in extra need of it. I suspect a strong first half may cause some Miami players to be thinking of the flight home and balmy temps of Florida as a much better place to be mentally instead of concentrating on the icy battering of a second half game they appear to have no chance of winning.
The game is at Miami, not Foxboro.

Plus they barely beat the Cardinals at home and got plastered by the Ravens in Baltimore a few weeks ago. They really aren't much better than the team the Pats were dominating at Gillette until JG hurt his shoulder.

Agree. All I want is to get out of Miami injury free. Win or a loss is secondary at this point. Oakland is toast.

I DONT CARE I LOVE IT!!!! RAVENS AND BRONCOS ELIMINATED FROM THE PLAYOFFSS LETS ****ING GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
And jest embarrassed the same weekend.

If they take a page out of Tom Coughlin's book in 2007, Case should tell his guys to play balls to the wall.

I don't think Miami is going to lay down against the Pats.. even though Miami basically has a bye week.

Hopefully the Pats have a 14 point lead at half and just play JG and Floyd and Lungy.

Give Dion 7 carries White 7 carries and Blount 7 carries.
....Or give Bolden and DJ all of them.

Uh, the game next Sunday is in Miami....

Miami will definitely go for it. The Dolphins and their fans will be in full throat for a win over the Patriots and sustaining momentum into the playoffs. The Patriots need to go down there, be efficient and beat those guys. Take care of business at 1 pm, and make the rest of the day irrelevent. Happy New Years, boys and girls.

I look at the phins points differential and it's +4 for the year. After 15 games, they are winning by .25 points... they have kept games close and then pull a win out at the end. Except for jets in week 15 and steelers in week 6 all wins have been a TD or less. And 3 of 5 losses have been ugly. Make the pats loss ugly too, since jimmy got injured. Phins have found a way to survive, and they will probably play that way in week 17. Pats need to play hard, take the fight out of the phins and remind them who they are dealing with, a team that has prettty much embarrassed the jets, donkeys and ratbirds the past 3 games.

Chiefs and Dolphins are pretty much the only teams jockeying for seeding at this point.

Oakland will still fight to clinch the division and hold onto their bye, but after getting embarassed by the Chiefs and being eliminated from playoff contention, I just don't see the Broncos letting themselves be beaten on their home turf by a division rival.... much less by a backup QB like MclGoin. After a disappointing season, they're gonna want to make a statement in front of their fans.

Kinda of a boring 17 week, isn't? Outside of Lions vs Packers, there is nothing noteworthy. EDIT: Oakland's game should have been worthy of attention, but in the wake of Carr's junry, the Raiders aren't that interesting anymore, IMO. Can McGloin carry them far? I doubt it...

Miami playing starters, I don't know but what I do know is the Pats better cause we need the win for the HFA. I don't want to take any chances of losing HFA.

Brady and Arron Rodgers are the two hottest QBs playing right now along with their teams. That's the SB match up. We need to be in that game.

Rapeisberger is also hot along with Pittsburgh.

for mia to jump to #5 seed, KC would have to lose to SD..who just lost to the freaken Browns. Mia must know, that's not going to happen.
Even if the Pats lose the #1 seed, they will still have 2 home games as no way Oak is winning without Carr(most likely vs KC)...BUT, with NE at #2, that probably means facing Pitt, then KC...I would like to face one of those, not both.

I think the Miami game will be all-out for both teams. If Miami can play for a home playoff game, then they're going for it and the Pats can lock up home field, so they're going for it too. Should be a good one.

mia can't get home game, not in 1st 2 rounds anyway..technically, at #5 seed they could host the #6 seed in the AFCCG, but that has never happened.

If this team's good enough than they can go into miami and win. Just stay injury free.

#5 seed gets to play Houston and Tom Savage / Brock Osweiler instead of Big Ben, which should be incentive enough for Miami.

But I also think Gase is trying to build the program, not just for this year but beyond. And its way too early to throw away a game that can continue development. Plus Moore needs as many reps as possible to develop chemistry with his receivers. Makes no sense not to play to win.
Agreed. Miami is playing to win. We should too, if for no other reason that the end of last year left a bad taste and sent us into the playoffs on a downslide. We already have a bye next week. Let's play so we stay home no matter what. A trip all the way across the country for the AFC Championship game rather than making Oakland come here (if they get that far, I realize) is not something to just give up on.
