Denver Broncos' frustrations boil over after loss to Patriots

This was my favorite quote:

"Any time we hold Brady to 16 points, we expect to win!"

Veteran left tackle Russell Okung, who signed with the Broncos last March, stepped forward to speak, and strong safety T.J. Ward strongly objected.
Okung: "Stop taking stupid penalties."
Ward: *flexes*
Okung: "Stupid **** like that."
Ward: *flexes again*

Edit: the article now says Talib was the one who objected.

Okung: "Stop taking stupid penalties."
Talib: *shoots himself*

I had 2 favorite quotes:

"During training camp, Elway told me he felt that despite the "emphasis that people put on quarterbacking, sometimes (it) is not the key thing. Obviously, if you look at the way we won the championship that year ... you don't necessarily need a Tom Brady to win a championship. It makes it a little easier for you cause you've got that guy you can build around, but by no means is it any guarantee."

LOL at Elway taking a shot at Peyton Manning.

And then there's this:

"We did dominate them," Ward said of the Patriots, "but when they don't have to pass, No Fly kinda gets eradicated, so we've got to try to make plays in other areas ... strip the ball, whatever. But it's tough when they don't have to pass the ball.

"You've got to be in a position to make plays, but teams don't even have to throw the ball on us. If they're not in a position to throw, it's hard to get an interception. And even when they run, their running backs have two hands on the ball, so it's hard to make plays (against) the run."

This reminds me of the days way back when the Steelers, Colts, and especially the Titans used to sneer at the Patriots in losses. I remember Zach Piller calling the Patriots the worst of the playoff teams after losing (this was a 14-2 Patriots team). He called them basically crap. Untalented. Stuff like that was said a lot. As though the Patriots would have played it so close to the vest if the Denver offense could do anything. So moronic.

Funny that I agree. I expect to win every game that our defense holds the opponent under 20. That is why the losses to the Giants were unexpected, for me anyway.

But anytime your opponent is crying or throwing shade means you did something right lol.

Funny definition of dominate you got there TJ. But then, I never figured you for the sharpest tool in the shed.

The funny thing is, the DB's complains how they didn't have any opportunity to make some game changing plays because we were running the ball, but that's on them not the offense! They should look to themselves if they want to win another superbowl!

It sounds to me like Ward's sneering at his own offense and front 7 -- basically, everybody but his own unit. The Patriots' RBs even get some love from him in the ball security department.

It annoys me so much when other teams say things like ' we are the better tea m' or 'they couldn't do anything against us so we should have won ', How about just giving the Pats credit for once ? How about realizing that the Patriot defense was the best unit out there today ?The Bronco's are so arrogant, so glad they are out of contention to win their division, and only have a slim chance to make the playoffs !

Eggg-actly. The truth of the matter is, the entire team has plenty of blame to go around. It's not just the offense either; their defense isn't half of what it was last season. They've sustained injuries, yes, but they are getting run over game after game, and even their secondary is underperforming compared to last year. That's why it's funny to me that the secondary is complaining about the offense, when T.J. Ward is the one who iced the game with his senseless, idiotic unneccessary roughness penalty on JE.

Living in Denver, and seeing the reactions in person and on social media, I think this game will be the turning point that marked the Broncos' devolution into rebuilding.

Everyone is calling for Kubiak's head already, they need an entirely new OL, no good plan at QB, their D can't stop the run; and going forward, that Von Miller contract could really hinder their attempts at remedying all those problems.
