Pats claim WR Michael Floyd

Does he do kick returns?

Yeah, he had 3 reported alcohol incidents in college and I believe this was his second as a pro. That's a significant history. I hope he can avoid additional episodes and help us.

His first as a pro.. Last arrest was in 2011..

Multiple alcohol incidents/DUIs is concerning because he either doesn't learn from his mistakes, or has a problem. But Larry Fitzgerald is vouching for him, and it's not like he won't be on a short leash, so I guess risk is minimal?

Found this in PFT comments, prior to the waiver claim being announced, pretty funny:

He will have 6 tds for the pats before years end.

I hope he doesn't have an alcohol issue. Hope he can get help here and play well.

Not a fan but they know much more about him than I do. I didn't realize they can get a compensatory for him but that certainly is a plus. Hopefully he can help them out down the stretch and in the playoffs.

Holy crap we actually got him. Wow wow wow. I can't believe other teams passed on him. Does bb owe 10 sexual favors or something?

By claiming him do the pats have to pay him the full amount of his remaining contract?

Sorry did not see last point.

I'm disappointed, tough, with the overwhelming enthusiasm, although not really surpise.

Michael Floyd is a Young man that put himself and, perhaps more importanly, other in danger.

When the Cowboy to this kind of stuff, they are called on that. The same should happen here.

I hope he is looking into changing his behavior, everyone deserves another chance, I'm just thinking it shouldnt happen so soon after the marquee fact (less than 2 weeks)
Before you get on thathigh horse, I hope you understand that you just described 3/4's of the exiting Monday night crowd.

So they claimed Floyd... son of a gun... well... I'll admit it...

...well... you know what I mean...

I'm trying not to get too excited. We're adding a player w/ a skill set that could make a big impact here. Different dimension. Man this offense still has so much potential.

I'm thrilled and trying to temper expectations.

*IF* Healthy, focused etc this Bennett, Lewis type of pick up. Huge upside.

LOL $ ?

We're in season, top 4, if not best team in the league. This is a legit Superbowl run. Great move!

If 3/4 of Pats fans are driving home drunk from the game, the state has a big problem.

Wonderful low risk move by Belichick.

Even if Floyd is a #4 WR at his best, he will immediately become the best deep threat on this offense. From a pure size/speed perspective, he is the best deep threat this team has had outside of Moss and Gronk. That might not account for much in this offense, but who here wants to see Brady miss Slater on another playoff bomb, or Edelmen get smacked as he dives for a ball just out of reach? Floyd is a better option on deep routes and that can allow our other WRs to focus on what they do best. The decoy factor alone restores what was missing from this offense and takes some pressure off of Edelmen, Mitchel, Hogan, etc.
