Why would BB be mad? Seems pretty obvious the upset party is Martin because he got cut instead of put on IR or just held on the 53 until healthy.

Usually the injury settlement $ is agreed to up-front during contract time and is based on whatever (% of bonus, playing/practice time, days on the 53, etc.) . Apparently Martin feels the team did not operate in good faith or adhere to the contract. That is what I meant by acrimony...and its on Martin. Could be a trsut issue. Who knows.

If BB wanted him bad enough he'd ask him to drop the beef and he'd make it up to him in the contract. Clearly that's not something Martin is not interested in.

Probably true. A player of Martin's caliber would be stupid to burn any bridges.
