NFL looking at Thursday night games

There's too many night games. Can't have a Thursday, Sunday, and a Monday night game and expect them to all be good otherwise your product during the day Sunday is going to stink. The only thing that would help the Monday game though is cutting out the Sunday game

I'd rather have a Saturday game but there are problems with that and college football as we all know.

I think the problem with TNF is game selection, it has been awful this season. I like the TNF, I like having a game on Thursday, close to the weekend, next day is friday, etc...it's a good day I mean at least used to be, the games as I said were almost all terrible this year and my hatred for the NFL is making me less excited about almost anything NFL.

The problem is not the TNF, the problem is that the product is **** right now. One more prime time game just exposes that, Monday Night games this year are not much better. We have had a few decent Sunday Nights.

They need to improve the format, like many have suggested, give teams a bye the week before, get rid of 4 games in the pre-season, make it 2 games and then expand the schedule to 18 weeks or so WITHOUT increasing the number of games and for Christ sake improve game selection, no more Jags x Titans or Ravens x Browns on TV, **** THAT, I know every team must have a TNF game, change that or at least choose a decent match-up, those games were known stinkers before the first kickoff of the season.

Out of 17 weeks it's ok to have 4 or 5 bad games there is not much they can do about that but we are on pace to 15 terrible games on Thursday.

Correct. Federal law (Sports Broadcasting Act of 1961) prohibits the NFL televising games on Saturdays before the college football season is over.

Why not just go back to the way it was? Games throughout Sunday and one marquee match-up on Monday night? When your ideas are failing, bring the product back to formula. While we're at it:

1. Scale the rules back to where they were in the late 90's.

2. Stop playing games in other countries.

3. Fire Goodell.

4. Watch the ratings climb back up.

Why would they unless they are losing money? Wouldn't it be more money vs adding one game to the Subway afternoon slate?

Oh and maybe stop doing business with ESPN too. They're a sinking ship and a big reason for the prime time ratings decline.
