Teams that lose the super bowl lose aren't the same the following year. They lose a bit of confidence knowing that they were this close to winning the SB last year all for naught.

Lose confidence? You obviously don't listen or read anything pertaining to the Panthers. They are not lacking in confidence they are lacking in talent. Their DBs aren't good they depend on a pass rush. No Pass rush =DBs getting smoked.

I was talking more generally about super bowl losers. I think it's a mental block more than anything. I mean how many players did carolina lose over the summer? Josh Norman, but they got benjamin back and a healthy thomas davis. You don't go 15-1 and all of sudden fall off the face of the earth. Better coaching would help.

Denver hasn't faced anyone that's good yet, so their early season success means nothing. They didn't face a single top contender last year that wasn't decimated by injury (postseason included.) All it will take to expose them is health.

I'm hoping that denver will drop one of the next two - against Atlanta or San Diego. I don't trust Atlanta on the road though.

They probably won't. I don't believe Atlanta is for real yet, and SD usually plays the Broncos better in Denver than they do at home.

It still doesn't change my perspective on the matter. All it will take for us to beat Denver (regardless of where the game is played) is health.

Denver has to come down at some point. They can't keep winning like this all season. The problem is they have an easy schedule - they don't play any one of note except NE. On the other hand we're stuck playing Pitt, seattle and Denver - two of those games on the road.

Lol heard that one before from pats fans. every year our fan base underrates Denver and there defense

I'm sorry but Denver has won ONE super bowl in nearly 20 years and all of sudden they are unbeatable? Let the season play out. As BB says, it's how you play after November that counts. Who knows what DeMarcus Ware's injury situation is, or Trevor Siemian for that matter.

Yes like other kindergarten aged children those professional athletes lose a final and then lose all confidence and are never the same again.

Lets go with yet another nice narrative instead of looking at the actual deficiencies that the Panthers have. Requires so much less effort so we dont have to think too much and hurt our brains.

Yes and they have eliminated us in 2 of the past 3 years in afc championship games. That is a big deal. We need to prove we can beat them in the playoffs.

When are people going to realize Denver has an Elite Elite D, far better than ours and the best in the league. I hate Denver, but I gotta give credit where it's due. They have solid coaching, good enough QB play, fantastic WRs with a diverse skill set. elway spent a lot of money on D stars and to be honest they all worked out. He got what he paid for.

Pisses me off to this day Denver stole manny sanders from us and outbid us on Talib. Revis was a better one year rental but Talib has proven himself the far better long term option. Talib plays like a shutdown top 5 CB in the NFL. BB should have locked him up in 2013.

I still think we're better than Denver, but it's close.

You name me one team that has lost the super bowl and gone back to the super bowl the following year in recent memory. In fact since 2000 not many teams have been the same after losing the super bowl with the exception of NE and Seattle. They are well-coached teams and are taught to flip the page. Heck, even the Rams - the greatest show on turf never regained their footing.

No one here is saying Denver doesn't have a good D. But they almost lost to Carolina and cleveland was in a dog fight with them all the way until 7 minutes to go in the 4th quarter. It's not like they are blowing their competition out of the water.
