Patriots Offensive Line Has Been Excellent Thus Far in 2016

Steve Balestrieri

The play of the Patriots offense line has to be considered one of the pleasant surprises thus far in 2016.

Hopefully Vollmer comes back but if not as long as they stay healthy besides that this is a good unit to take into the playoffs. Hopefully Cooper can play soon.

Solder is so damn frustrating. At times he makes you pull out your hair at at others you see why they drafted him at 17 overall and think "maybe should have gone higher". He has as good of physical tools as nearly any OT when combined. Usually he makes up his lack of pure foot speed with width and power so more than 1 way to get it done.

It's much easier playing healthy on two legs at your position. Rather than gutting it out, hobbled, at a position you never played, since the Team needed you and there was nobody else. And receiving derision from no-nothing, so called fans, for a non probowl performance.

They are running more so I think that helps a lot. Blount has been impressive.

Scar. Would have it no other way.

1) The starting OL has been really solid. Fleming has played well. We have Cooper coming back.

2) Who is the backup center? Who would be our starter and backup if Andrews were injured? Perhaps Barker would be brought up as a backup if Andrew were injured.

3) I don't expect Vollmer to play again; an injury settlement seems more likely. This is the last year of his contract, and Cannon is playing fine, and is likely to get extended yet again.

They've been opening some serious holes and sealing the edge (much credit should also go out to the TE's as well) for the RB's/WR's to get outside untouched. A lot has to do with Scar but also with Solder being back. He's been a beast. It'd be even better if SeaBass was healthy. To my surprise, all this with Thuney not being consistent to this point and Cooper not hitting the field yet. I'm still holding out hope for Cooper making an impact this year. I just think since he hasn't been IR'd yet that he'll be a force with his talent and with our coach.
