Didn't know about that until just now.

I too have mixed feelings, for the very same reasons.

Oh hell, that sucks. Good guy. Get healthy soon.

Sucks for Vereen. Wish him a good rehab

He was having a nice game for the Giants yesterday too (except for a lost fumble).

Hope he bounces back in 2017

That sucks, how much of his salary for next year.is guaranteed? I want to see if the giants will entertain cutting him

Wish we never lost him to begin with. He still hasn't been reliably replaced.

To be fair, Jimmy White hasn't done as badly as I thought he might.

But yes, Vereen is still better than him.

Eh, I think White is about even with him. Lewis is much better.

He was playing well vs Washington to last week suck to hear that.

White is a small downgrade. Vereen was not worth the cap hit so BB moved on as necessary.
Props again to Vereen who played BIG in the Pats SB win.
Good health.
I think Sweet Feet is a bit more dynamic but, Ben has more reliable hands and is a better route runner.

Well that's bad but fortunately it's an injury that can heal 100% and not affect his play next season, for RB's knee injuries must be a nightmare.

Counterpoint/Devil's Advocate: What if Vereen's experience, familiarity with Brady, and better ability than White as a runner of the ball could've meant he comes down with a couple of the throws that White just missed, or gets a first down where they failed, and thus could've meant a few more points and a W in Denver last January?

It's rhetorical, plus I think Lewis not White was intended to be new Vereen and was an upgrade while he was on the field, but it was probably wishful thinking that Lewis would play full-time - he never has. Don't get me wrong I think they did the right thing with SV but it is another time - like '06 with the WRs - where they ended up bit in the ass a little bit by not having enough quality players at a skill position.

Yup. Pats woulda won in Denver with Lewis or Vereen instead of White.

I always wish Vereen 3 TDs a game and 4 for the opponent.
