Really? With the number of 1 year rentals and Pending Free Agents, you doubt that the Pats will bring in as many or more than they lose? Just the fact that it's 17 players who are free agents says that they are going to have to sign free agents unless you really expect Belichick to go with 17 rookie/1st year players..

UFA Next year:
Collins, Hightower, Butler, Ryan, Mingo, Cooper, Harmon, Cannon, Vollmer, Sheard, Bennett, Branch, Ninkovich, Long, Blount, Develin, Fleming.

It doesn't matter if another team give Ryan a ridiculous contract. The Pats will only get a pick if they lose more than they sign. That's how Comp Picks work.

Sorry, but thats not how it works.

I don't want to try to explain the complex formula that is comp picks.

However this will do it

Dude - Please stop responding. I've been following how Comp Picks are done long before you ever found this board. You couldn't explain how they were done unless you copied it verbatim from someone else. It's plain as day you're clueless on the subject and don't have even a basic understanding of how they're done.

Simple fact. Unless you lose more eligible Free Agents than you Sign, you aren't getting a comp pick. That's a rule the NFL has never broken.

Near 20 pages in one day for a guy who hasn't been on the team until today .... EPIC!

OK, do I have this trade right?

Josh Kline and a 4th round pick for Eric Rowe and Josh Kline

Yup. Then watch the Eagles pick him up after the Pats cut him.

Right. You had a guy who retired, then didn't retire, then released. A player traded, failed physical, came back, waived and a respected player traded, returned and I assume released at some point.

Strange indeed.

It's all part of the plan. What plan you ask?

The plan to f with the NFL offices. They are probably ripping through every dumb rule they have, real or imaginary to try to catch the Pats. All the while eating their Happy Meals and playing Pokie Go.

Meanwhile BB is laughing his ass off.

Here is footage from the opposite point if view (CJ fan footage vs Rowe as opposed to Rowe fan footage vs CJ)

I realize I'm 250ish posts behind...but, that first td seemed to be the safety coming late/miscommunication. The second td...he was in great position, timed his jump well, but was beat by an excellent throw (and catch).

It's just occurred to me that Eric Rowe is a lot like Sean Davis that went to Pittsburgh in this latest draft, just two picks ahead of Cyrus. This trade, and the high compensation, makes me wonder whether Davis might have been the pick ahead of Cyrus? Just some idle speculation (I'm happy with Cyrus).

If the theory is right that we liked Davis, we kinda traded up for him using a 2018 3rd/4th. I came to believe that Davis/Cyrus was going to be our first pick in the draft. We ended up pretty close to getting both.

If you click the link in the tweet, you'll see that Davis is Rowe's closest athletic comp with a 99% match.

I remember watching that game. My fantasy team opponent had CJ. He had like, one yard in the first half. Then the starter got hurt and Rowe came in. Rookie and he got lit up. Many non family friendly words were hurled at him by myself as the fantasy points for CJ skyrocketed.

He's in my good graces now

Kline was injured as well. Not sure on the specifics, but he was injured against Philadelphia and had to have shoulder surgery in the off-season.
I don't remember the injury, i do remember thinking 'no not kline' when he started some games at the end of last season but was pleasantly surprised. Up until then i never thought he was very good. It sounds like he was injured in one of the last games which lead to poor play in the afccg. I was watching Cannon stink so much i didn't notice kline.

When Bill makes a trade that is not for a screaming need, then we usually do very well by it. I expect that to happen here because we did not have a screaming need.

One other physical comparison

Ras-I dowling

If we get R-I opposed to I-R, I will be very happy.

Bb usually has a plan. He must see something about Rowe that we have not seen yet.

Does J. Jones go since we have an abundance of corners now?

He's going to be one of our gunners. No way they cut him

I'm not sure about that. Once he is on a PS, the other 31 teams can sign him at any time.

Sfpat said the Bears claimed him, as in on the Bears 53. I can't find anything that says he's on their PS. Which means the bears will have to put leblanc thru waivers if they want him on their PS.
