Yeah, that's a very tough call for Patriot coaching staff, but I have a sense that Joe understood about the pending cut before the fire, and that all's ok with him.
Typical Pats guy. Vallano had minimum talents but has had an NFL career because he maximized what he had, was coached well, and never asked to do what he couldn't. G ood luck to him elsewhere. The fact that he wasn't good enough to stick here, shouldn't count against him
On a side note, if it was me, the ring would have been in a Safety Deposit Box. If it wasn't, I'd have had a separate insurance rider for it specifically.
Ooh ooh, what about this one---"Once the house burned down, Belichick knew that the pictures Vellano had on him were gone so he was safe to cut."
I kid, I kid. I always liked Vellano for the specific reason that he had completely maxed out his ability. Even if he was someone everyone was always wanting to upgrade, he stuck around a lot longer than I ever thought he would and outlasted a number of more physically gifted players at his position. It's a real drag about his house, that's devastating. Best of luck in Atlanta, Joe!
If he were married with kids, then this would be terrible for the wife -- Dad transfers to a new job out of town the same week the house burns down. So that's at least something of a mercy; only two people are directly affected by the awfulness.
