Krafty Bob sets up Brady tribute

I guess that makes up for not going all in for the one man responsible for making your billions and the team a dynasty

I guess whats best for the 32 is more important

but all is good now....
The one man responsible? So, they would have gone to 6 SBs with Rex Ryan at the helm?

I get it if anyone wants to hate on this with the "too little, too late" mentality. I do understand.

However, unless Kraft has secretly hired Dr. Emmett Brown to build a flux capacitor so he can go back and change the past, what's done is done.

So what would you have Kraft do now? Never show support ever again to Tom? That would somehow be better?
I get it. Penance. We'll see if it stays up once the season starts. We'll see if he keeps blindly supporting Goodell, as he did when the Saints were screwed. Bob Kraft, of all people, should know Martin Niemoller's poem: http://tinyurl.com/3optagc.

It is always harder to be in the hot seat and putting your billions on the line than being a backseat commentator saying what he should have done when we have no skin in the game.

What I have seen is a man conflicted between wanting to support brady and not wanting his "kingdom" to come crumbling down. Could he have done things better? Absolutely, but that is easy for me to say after the fact and not being involved. I personally think the hate he is getting is outrageous, but what do I know??

I'm pissed at Kraft but certainly do not hate him or anything close to that.

THIS is the key distinction. It is perfectly fine to be pissed at Kraft for his handling of the "deflategate" debacle. But that is just one incident. You can't wipe out 20 years of exemplary ownership and leadership because he was likely duped by Goodell's minions into a horrible decision..

This is like when your parents did something that made you hate them. EVERYONE has had that moment....some more than others. But for 99% of us, we get over it, and we all love our parents and usually come to understand why they did what they did.....even if its many years later.

Meanwhile Kraft is doing what he can given the situation he's in. In my mind what he did with the Brady photo was a very subtle piece of rebellion but not too subtle that the media and the league offices won't get it.

The point was that the "gesture of magnanimity" was going in you pocket as a season ticket holder, RATHER than to charity as was suggested elsewhere.
That's your point, not mine. I didn't say money should go into my pocket vs. to charity. In fact, it's not money I'm concerned about at all. I'd just like to see Kraft DO something tangible for the fan base vs. giving lip service to faux outrage.

What about some of my other suggestions that would be fan generated? For example would you be willing to pee on Goodell at a Gillette urinal, film it on your phone and post it the world? The more I think about it the better I like that idea. Better yet, you can give me a ticket and I will pee on Goodell.
I like the stickers-in-urinals idea, but it's a risky proposition with security cameras in the restrooms likely being monitored real-time on game day. I can see someone losing season ticket privileges getting caught doing it (defacing stadium property).

I don't think they have cameras in the rest rooms. That's got to be a privacy violation

I think they do -- these are large public restrooms with about 20 urinals, sinks, etc. I'll check next time I'm in there.

I'll look too. I'll be there for the opener.....I just didn't think a public rest room could have cameras in it. How can a business watch people poop and pee? How can they Like look at peoples junk legally.... Kids go in there too

Bingo...you got bingo...

T; Thanks for ruining a really great idea with your pragmatism.

He could really lose his fortune over this?

It isn't just the deflate witch hunt. It has been Kraft's actions since 2007 including supporting Goodell over BB in the camera placement debacle which have been a disaster for the team and its fans. He wasn't duped by Goodell's minions, but he has been totally complicit with Goodell unless you consider his meaningless PR statements and gestures to have some merit. I used to think that Kraft was like Chamberlain duped by Furher Goodell but I now realize the more appropriate analogy for him is Quisling.

Just so you know: before this discussion hardly began this morning I located a web site where you can order 3-inch diameter circular glossy peel-and-stick stickers, custom made with a photo of Goodell's face on them. A sheet of six stickers goes for $5. I'm still considering the idea. The only problem is getting caught by stadium gestapo and losing your season tickets, which is exactly what they would do.

Put the stickers in the porta-potties. Can't prove how they got there.

Yeah, but they'd need to be in stadium urinals for maximum effect.

That is a ridiculous exaggeration. Kraft's "kingdom"was never in danger of crumbling down if he simply gave Brady more support. He didn't fight for what was right, at least not in any meaningful or constructive way, he instead cowered, and let the people conspiring against Brady and the team walk all over and have their way with him.

All of Kraft's passive aggressive little tactics fall under the categories of way too little and way too late.

Since Gillette opened, there were some amazing (disappointing) instances of stadium Gestapo roughing up innocent fans and them subsequently losing their season tickets. Don't know if that has improved. They do have a long wait list, but no excuse to muscle long time customers out the door over nothing.

Regardless of cameras, eyewitness accounts could be used against us.

Sorry, but this is yet another problem with Kraft. There is an absense of common sense, practical understanding there. I believe under similar circumstances, several owners would be amused by it and tacitly encourage it, but would NEVER punish their own fans over something like that.

It's simply NOT the same as being drunk and disrupting other patrons' ablility to enjoy the game.
