On team-building in the offseason: “You sign a free agent, and the first thing you want to do is get to know the guy on a personal level. Sometimes, a lot of teams, it doesn’t happen until training camp, because they just got there. But all our free agents, Sammy (Morris), Adalius, Wes (Welker), all the guys, Randy (Moss), they were here in the offseason. So you get to know them, you know them in the weight room and maybe off the field, and all of a sudden, it’s a little bit easier out there on the field, because you know them. That’s a credit to their work ethic, to be dedicated and come in here and work in the offseason.”

This team might lay waste to everyone they play. The more I hear about their "tightness", the more powerful and prepared they seem already. Bruschi doesn't make stuff up. I believe him. I don't think this is the normal situation in most teams. The combination of talent and work ethic is something we haven't seen before IMO.

If the Patriots keep Brady healthy, and don't experience what seems to have become an annual position-with-catastrophic-injury, they literally can't be stopped. They will DEFINITELY win the Super Bowl, period.

Unfortunately, injuries are HUGE "ifs" and so we'll just have to see. It's a long season, lots can happen.

Noticed in a lot of the off season stuff, softball games etc. Welker seemed to be at a lot of them.. thought that this was a good omen..

Tedy's work ethic and his lead by example probably has a lot to do with the new player's coming in and working hard.

Plus, Belioli wouldn't have brought them in if that work ethic wasn't there.

Who was the last veteran to come in as a head case? We've had a few draft picks, but a veteran free agent?

like David Terrell?

Terrell wasn't a head-case while here, though. For that I'd say...last year - Doug Gabriel. And even then, in the end he told Moss he'd like it here.
