Edelman Leaves Field, Apparent Foot Injury

Dude go F yourself. We all pissed and nervous but you want to laugh at us for trying to be optimistic. Kick us while we're down.

honestly, even if he's done for the year, there's plenty of reason to be optimistic

didn't brady go 25/25 without him?

Given the original injury, I don't think you can "tweak" a broken foot bro. That's not how breaks work

But you CAN tweak the muscles, ligaments and tendons around the injury..

IC our Offense is Lethal with Edelman no so much without.

Really? That's all you took from my post?

Well, if all the early reports are true, it's not serious. But since he did slam his helmet, we must assume the worst.

My cousin works as a first assist in orthopedic surgery. I'll call him and get his opinion on how long the typical helmet slam takes to recover from.

It sucks that he came off of PUP yesterday to have this set back. It limits what they can do now. They only get one in-season IR slot and I'd hate to see them use it in training camp.

As a not-insignificant point, IIRC, you can't use the DFR until the season starts; you have to carry that player on the 53.

The poor helmet has to go through so much. It's almost frightening.

The article yesterday ignored the fact that there were significant changes in the O-line and among the rest of the offense.. Like the loss of Lewis, Blount, Amendola. Like Lafell not being 100%. Like Cannon and Vollmer not being 100%.. Like Stork having to play RT.

The article had more holes than a spaghetti strainer..

Why would they have him out there practicing if his foot is anything less than 100%? I sure hope he just happened to suffer an unrelated injury to the same foot, because the alternative suggests questionable judgment all around. Maybe the muscles in his foot are weak from disuse over the past few months, maybe it's just a bruise, etc.

Supposedly they changed the IR so that you can designate anyone on it for return.

If you've ever had a foot injury, fracture, bone break, etc., you would know that yes... you usually can tell whether or not you're 100% good to go. There is still pain there if not.

Remember in HS I broke my ankle in 2 places during a basketball game...i wasn't 100% for a long time. Still bugs me to this day. But i am pretty sure i needed surgery but never got it. /randomstory

that's what was said when welker was jettisoned

but I am hearing the whole thing is not so bad......people can start breathing again

What really??? Or do you mean in 2008?

Sucks if this shelves Edelman...it really sucks. BUT it certainly doesn't mean all is lost. If we maintain reasonable health beyond him we will still very good...Gronk/Bennett/Hogan/Amendola/Mitchell/Lewis is pretty damn good still.
There was a comment on the first page that said in 08 he walked off under his own power which isn't true

Brady went to the locker room under his own power. I can remember watching him walk down the stairs and thinking he'd be ok only to have them announce that his ACL was torn..

When did I do this? Feel free to quote the post for me.

Actually, this began as a fundamental failure in reading comprehension. There is a key word in my OP that you missed. I'll give you a hint: it's also a month. Do try to read the posts before you feel the need to get into a pissing contest.

That said? The odds are that he probably re-injured his foot. It's the same foot and he just got a follow up procedure done recently. You also have posters in the TC thread who are actually at the practices, as opposed to some office trolling other posters in Miami, saying that they've seen him be careful and cautious with the foot. From now on, you may want to try to read what other people are saying instead of trying to jump on them.

In the end? Thankfully, it doesn't appear to be serious.

If you understand that you have no evidence about what Edelman might know or not know and are just speculating, then of course that's a different story and didn't warrant my response. It seems, though, that you are using the report that Edelman injured his foot as evidence that he came back before he felt he was ready. I'm saying there are at least three other reasonable possibilities and it is impossible to put "odds" on any one of them: 1. He felt he was ready, but, unbeknownst to him, either the bone or surrounding tissue was not fully healed; 2. He felt he was ready and the foot was as healed as it was ever going to be, but even then it is more susceptible to injury than a foot that has never been injured; 3. He felt he was ready and the foot was healed and as good as new, but he still hurt it, just as he has hurt his foot on at least two other occasions when seemingly healthy.

Sorry to jump on you, it is a cumulative effect of hearing forms of this argument over the years. For some reason, people would rather assume the cause of reinjury is a reckless player rather than the nature of the injury (e.g., poor blood flow in the area makes complete healing impossible) or the physiology or playing style of the player that contributed to the first injury.

Bad news gets worse. I heard they had to put Edelman down about 15 minutes ago. RIP Julian.

I read it on a tweet someone wrote, once. Seems legit.

Probably a shill from the consortium of media outlets orbiting the NYJFL propoganda headquarters.

I broke my foot sophomore year and it took me until my senior season until I felt 100% pain free.
