Marv Cook would be great in this offense.

Or we can wait a few years for his son Drew, who is still listed at QB but could end up as a 2019 or 2020 tight end draft prospect.

(Warning: This post may make some posters feel old.)

All those names sound good, just a matter of where they fit with us. Laurinitus could be the best fill for Mayo depending where he ranks between Collins and Hightower. Long perhaps as a compliment to Chandler Jones, Cook maybe to replace Scott Chandler. It's a tricky question of best available with none of these guys addressing what I'd label a position of need (RB, OL,WR2)

Wonder if these guys will try and bid for the likes of Osweiler or Cousins if either his the market.

Laurinaitis has missed just 21 snaps since he was drafted. Back in 2008......

Rumors are that they want to pursue Manning as a centerpiece for their return to LA.
Because they've mapped out a marketing campaign that just cries out for an enfeebled old laughing-stock as its centerpiece?

Back around 1990 I use to shoot pool at a place called Playoffs in Weymouth.

There was a young waitress that worked there that hooked up with Marv Cook when he visited the club.
She was beautiful ! He ended up taking her to the pro bowl with him.

I am sure nobody cares about this information & I apologize for not having a picture of her.

If I attached a picture, you could understand why.

I agree that this all sounds pretty funny. But they're trying to re-establish their fan base, and somehow believe it would be better done with star power than with a good team. Or maybe they think they can build a squad similar to Denver's and have Manning be the "caretaker".

Here are a couple of articles about this:

These stories are always welcome.

I used to live near Haverhill, MA and as a college kid home during the summer I used to play hoop at Cederdale Athletic Club. I would play H-O-R-S-E and 1:1 vs Robert Perryman was a FB for the team. I think he was dating a girl from the club. Not sure.

Anyway.....strong dude and great hoop player. Good guy as well. Kicked my ass many a time on the court. Incredible how gifted pro athletes are.

I wanted us to draft Laurinaitis. Sure, we should check him out, and Cook also.

Mayo hardly played last year. With all the sub packages full of DBs, I think the third LB is an affordable LB. Just the facts of the modern game.

BTW, our DL coach came from the Rams and knows these players well.

There's no way we get Long. DEnds command so much money, someone will pay top dollar for him.

Laurinatis could come, financially, but in practice, it doesnt make too much sense. He will get a good contract, and how much are we willing to pay for our 3rd ilb? Plus, Collins and HT's extensions are looming around...

Cook is probably better than Chandler, but there are better players than Cook in the market
