@BenVolin Chiefs Injury Report: Hali, Houston, Maclin, Spencer Ware, Albert Wilson all QUESTIONABLE. Starting OLs Morse and Duvernay-Tardif are OUT

Come on Defense!

Have these OL been out for awhile? Were they out last week? If they played considerable snaps last week then this is big, if they've already been out I'd say they've already adjusted

This would have been a great time to have Easley still healthy.
I was thinking that for a while. All things considered it's good to have all 11 defensive starters on the field but it sure would've been nice to have Easley too on third downs

I remember one of them being concussed and then an announcer made some comment about how they keep rotating new people into the OL.

Morse was inactive vs Texans
I think Duvernay-Tardif went out of that game with a concussion but I could be mistaken. If true then no surprise he'd be out.

Nobody is saying much about the Patriots defense. I think they come up with a big game tomorrow.

Morse missed week 17 and the WC. Tardiff played 25% snaps in the WC and then presumably got hurt.

No reason our defense shouldn't be able to hold this KC offense to 17 points or less. If we lose, it will be because the offense is just too banged up to muster more than 17, or the special teams gives up points/field position.

With all the screeching about the Patriots "injuries" in here you wouldn't know the Chiefs are worse off than we are. With Houston and Hali out, or significantly limited, their defense is totally different. They are already mediocre against the run, this could really open up that area of the offense.

The Pats need to score at least 23 points.

To go more narrow, during the Chiefs 11 game win streak, no team has scored 23 points on them. BUF came close (22) but lost 30-22.

They need to contain Smith and push the pocket from there. They need to approach him as if he's a smarter, more accurate Tyrod Taylor. But, unlike Taylor, the Pats safeties can cheat up and stack 8 in the box if needed until he proves that he can uncork one deep. Two gap discipline should be the order of the day here. Seal off those running lanes and keep Smith in the pocket.

People are mistaken if they don't think BB is going to be sending Hightower and Collins up the middle against 2 backup IOL.

I hope so,This is when Hightower/Collins are most effective.

Stats like that are kind of lame. The Chiefs are averaging 28.5 ppg in their last 11 and have scored 29 or more in 7 of those 11 games, so they would've won in most cases even if the opponent had scored 23.

I see what you're saying but I think a 45 game sample for Alex Smith and a 185 game sample for NE is pretty significant. It was my own take narrowing it down to their 11 game win streak. I was just curious to see if anyone had scored that much against them during it.

Well Smith is one of the most sacked QBs even though he does not throw a ton. It be great if the Pats can get pressure while containing him in the pocket. Easier said than done.

I'm curious as to what Brady's numbers are when his opponents score 23 or more, just for comparison's sake

Mayo too. His timing on the interior blitz has gotten better as the season has gone on.
