  • This was a pathetic effort by everyone. No one is excused from this loss. The Pats were out coached, out played, and out classed today.
  • I am not one to jump on McDaniels (in fact I defend him more than most), but I don't get his offensive strategy this entire month. Either they go with the three and out overly conservative offense or the three and out huck the ball down the field offense. What happened to spreading them out and go to the short quick passes. And before people say it isn't working, it is because they aren't trying it.
  • I hate that Belichick is coaching scared down the stretch. He might as well were a cut off hoodie that reads "My offense sucks and I don't trust them". I know that the offense is struggling quite a bit, but he is shattering their confidence consistently showing that he doesn't trust them at all.
  • That said, this offensive line is awful right now. There is a serious lack of communication, but the play is awful.
  • I still don't get why they don't get White more involved in the offense. It seems they wait until the Pats are in a hole and need to dig themselves out of it before they even put the guy on the field. When he gets the ball in his hands, he makes plays.
  • They need to move Gronk around more in motion. He is getting too much attention and could benefit from more motion. I know that he has had to stay in and block has been a big factor in that.'
  • With the strategy they came into the game, they should have sat Brady and others. They were never going to win with the strategy of trying to win 2-0 because they had no intention of scoring points on offense going into the game. I have no problem with the loss, but I have a problem with how they lost.
  • I am concerned about Brady's ankle. He was never right after that injury. If it is a lingering injury, it could cost the Pats their playoff chances.
  • Hightower really needs to get better. I swear he is the true MVP of the defense. When he isn't in there, the defense is not nearly as good.
  • All that said, a new season starts next week. The Pats can turn it all around with a bit of health in two weeks. Get an Edelman back at anywhere over 80% and a return of Vollmer and Amendola more healthy and this offense can flip a switch and be dominant again. Same on the defensive side with the return of Hightower and Jones.
  • After how we see things shake out today, the #2 seed may not be so bad. I expect both Wild Card teams winning next week. That means that KC would come to New England and Pittsburgh traveling to Denver. That may mean the Pats will be hosting the AFC Championship game anyway.

I thought you were disgusted.

I am not one to complain much ....
Just 1 complaint ....

Someone tear that delayed hand off play away from McDaniels ....
Has it worked well even 1 time this season?
Other than that we're hobbled ... let's hope for the best in 2 weeks.

I agree with all that you said except for the part about Brady's ankle. I was at the SNF game in Pittsburgh during the 2010 season and Brady could barely even jog in/out of the tunnel on it, he was so hurt. I remember him trying his best to trot and wincing in pain with every step. As you know, we went 14-2 that year, and the PIT game was only like week 7.

I'm not going to panic about something that we've seen Tom Brady play through literally dozens and dozens of times, particularly with a bye week approaching. He is quite capable of getting them through 2 games before another bye, if we're able to get that far. I think they would've taken him out of today's game if it were anything to be concerned about.

You should be embarassed by the reaction here to this loss.

I read he said that he'll be fine.

Your post contained more effort and logic than the game plan. Running the ball the entire first half...how cute. Would much rather increase Steven Jackson's confidence by 8% than have HFA. It's okay, though, it's not like the Patriots are completely psyched out in Denver.

Why? I am not saying the Pats are done. I am calling it like I see it. This was a pathetic effort by the entire team. If the Pats didn't care about this win, they should have sat players like Brady. If they cared about winning this game, they should walk home from Miami for the pathetic attempt.

I think I am being pretty fair. This is arguably one of the worst performances in the Belichick/Brady era. I don't care how many people were injured or missing. The Pats came into the game expecting any points scored coming from the defense and and played not to win. But I am not saying the sky is falling. I don't think this has anything to do with the playoffs.

But anyone who cannot admit that this was a putrid performance by the entire team today should be embarrassed for being mindless blind homers. The Dolphins wanted to just end the season and the Pats could do nothing against them.

Brady with a healthy supporting cast can pretty much do anything with one leg. I am concerned that him being injured without weapons could spell disaster. My concern is about a 1-2 right now out of 10, but is something to monitor over the next few weeks.

Rob - he was referring to all the Negative Nancies claiming that the team is done. Not saying that you should be embarrassed by your reaction..

Oh ok, I thought he was talking about my reaction. I think this team can turn it around with some healthy players back.

Difference was that for the Broncos they faltered because of one player hurting. We are faltering because we have half a roster hurting.
What's the point? The outcome would be the same, failure in playoff.

I was disgusted last week. Two of the team's worst performances in a row. But at least last week, they played their hearts out against a decent opponent. This week, they played like they didn't even seem to care.

You are totally ignoring that the Pats, essentially had less than 40 players healthy players available for today's game.

You're expecting rookies who have never played more than 12 games in a season to not be run down after 13 straight weeks of non-stop football..

You're expecting this team to be successful when starting it's 5th different LT and 3rd different RT on the season. When it's top 2 RBs are out for the season and they are trying to work a guy who has all of 9 snaps and is 32 years old into the game plan?

They were missing 2 of their top D-line in Jones and Easley. Ninkovich was playing hurt.. He clearly wasn't even 75%.

McCourty wasn't 100% either and should have been on the sidelines the entire game instead of playing.

Come on. People need to take a step back and realize that regardless of what we think, there is a mental toll that this all takes.. They have two weeks to get healthy, both mentally and physically and we should see that in the play-off game in Foxboro.

I can understand it can be confusing. You clearly weren't in the Game Day thread. Not sure if you were in the Game Day Chat. But the Game Day thread was ridiculous.. And the negative nancies got their own thread started by 102. He didn't name names, but the people who he was talking about let their guilt show through and proceed to whine in there the way they did in the game day thread.
