I Could Use Your Thoughts and Prayers

New to the forum so I just want to say Ill keep you in my prayers, stay strong.
Believe that God has a plan and unfortunately your path is harder than others, it will all make sense in the end.

Thank you! Welcome to Patsfans! This is an incredible community of Passionate Patriot fans and caring and loving people. The support and concern PB12 and I have received in this thread is simply amazing. Your prayers will make me stronger for that harder path. God bless!

I'm in Keene, NH with my wife's family after her father died late last week. He was an ardent Pats fan; the only thing he was alert about in the past couple of months was the Pats. It was like he became a Pats savant; he was up to date on the scores, injuries, stats, playoffs, commentator opinions, etc. Everything else in life, he pretty much gave up on. It is as if he focused all of his neurological capacity onto the part of his brain that was dedicated to the Pats.

Ironically, my mother in law hates football, and despises Belichick. So she's lost her life partner, but gained freedom from the Patriots.

Except Sunday, when I'll be watching the game in her living room.

My wife is a mess, and there are grandchildren to be taken care of, so most everything else has come to a standstill. But it is, as they say, as it should be. "Grief is the price we pay for love."

Best of luck to you and yours. I've got ties to Keene, but more likely to be watching the game in MA on Sunday. Take care of the kids and grandkids, there'll be football next weekend too so they should be the priority. Don't let the loss erode the holidays, kids need the season to be joyous. Thoughts and prayers are with you.

My condolences to you and your family on the loss of your father-in-law. There is never a good time to lose a loved one, but Christmas time is especially rough. Grief is the price we pay for love.

Be strong and caring for your mother-in-law, wife and children. You are an exceptional man, so I know you will be. God bless you my friend.

Hey Guys, I truly hope that you all have a wonderful holiday season and would like to thank you for all your thoughts, prayers etc... they have been helpful and inspiring to read.

God Bless.

I have been battling with anxiety disorder in the last 10+ years. Pretty much lost my best years to it between 20 and 30. I took my sweet time to find the fighter in me but now I am relentless and even if my life ends today, I will have accomplished something. It doesn't rule my existence anymore. I know that depression is more serious than panic attacks, and I hope you are well OP, but I just wanted to share my story. Stay safe and keep fighting.

So sorry for your loss. It was my Dad's first Christmas without my Mom, and although he did his best to be cheerful I could see it was tough for him (and the rest of us - my mom was the "life of the party" for holidays). She passed last March 28th and she was also an ardent Pats fan. One of her last great joys on earth was seeing the Pats win the Super Bowl again. The Pats are a great escape for many people and I can see why your father-in-law focused on them rather than all the bad stuff that was probably happening. Peace to your wife and family. It does get easier with the passage of time.

Glad you are fighting the good fight! Keep it up!

Since you seem to be a religious person, I will put this passage out there:

And God said "I put before you life and death. Choose life."

Or as I say, "Any day that I can watch the grass grow from above is a good day." There is so much good to live for. Remember, no matter what you are going through, "this too shall pass".

Just checking in and hoping and wishing everyone at PatsFans better days ahead, especially PB12 and Ken, and of course Ian!

We're all dealt a different hand, but ultimately life is what you make it and you can change the path your headed at any time. It may not be easy and the first step is the toughest.

2015 was a very tough year, I won't lie, but we made it and I'll do everything in my power to make 2016 the best it can be for my family and myself. Be good to yourself. If you need help ask. If you can give help, do it!

The people here at PatsFans are an amazing crew, and if you're reading this that means you, too.

Peace on Earth, Goodwill towards men (all people). Carry on!!!

That's a fantastic attitude to start the year with Ken. So glad you didn't give up. Think of all the great things you're going to see and do that you would have otherwise missed.
